Not So Sweet Dreams
I closed my eyes in
the darkness and silently cried for a long time.
I opened my eyes. I stood next to Matt,
he had a very pained, tear stained face. I didn't understand
why. I was right here.
"Matt!?!?!" I waved my hand in
front of his face. He had no reaction to it what so ever.
He was staring at something. I followed
his gaze. He was staring at my peaceful body. Then I knew I was
I looked around the room, my mom had

My dad had tears welded up in his eyes, and he held the crying

and Kari clung to each other, both letting out distressed cries.
Brianna sat in a chair with her face Buried in her hands, making
silent sobs. Sammi and Leah held onto each other, crying. And in
the door of my room, sat Farah in a wheelchair, tears silently
slid down her face.
I burst into tears and screamed
"This can't be happening!!!"
After that the only sound in the room
were sobs, including my own.
Finally the doctor made it official when
she said "Time of death eleven fifty four p.m."
I hated the silence, I needed to
hear someone to speak.
"Someone! Please Talk!" I
As if he could hear me Matt said
"She was the only person, I ever loved."
I got in his face and said

Farah now spoke "I was awake for
ten minutes, and I find out she had died in child birth..."
She sobbed "I was in a coma for almost a year for God's
sake! I don't even get to see her alive! She was my best
"A parent is never supposed to out
live their child." My fathers voice broke.
Brianna pulled away from her sobbing and
said in a hurt tone "We had to live without Farah for a
year, now we have to live without Kendall for a year!"
"How could this happen to such a
good, kind person?!?!" Leah said not even pulling away from
I wiped away my ghost tears. I spoke as
if they could hear me "Don't do this to me,
Please!" I sobbed.
But everyone continued on with their
kind words about me.
'Ian! I'll find Ian and see
him!' I thought.
I tried to dodge Farah but there
was no point, I went right through her.
I searched the halls. I finally came to
a nursery. I went through the door and found Ian, in a incubator
A doctor and a nurse stood over him.
"Will he be okay?" I asked,
but of course they didn't hear me.
The nurse said "This is Ian
Jackson, his mother died in childbirth only moments ago, six
weeks premature. How does it look doc?"
"He'll be okay, he'll
be in critical care for a while though." He answered.
I let out a sigh of relief.
The doctor and the nurse walked
I gazed down at my beautiful son.
I knew he could see me, because as soon as I smiled, he grinned a
toothless smile right back.
"Your father will take care
of you. I promise." I say getting all teary eyed. He just
smiled right back at me. I smiled letting a tear slip down my
