*Chapter One Hundred & Sixty-One*
Niall's POV:
 

    "What did he say he wanted?" Amber interrogated me from the bathroom where she was getting ready for the day ahead. While she was taking the girls to run a few errands, I was meeting up with Liam and she was a bit worried about it. "I hope he's not mad that you're staying here. What if he tries to take Miracle away?"
   "Relax," I tried to soothe her as she furiously ran the straightener through her blonde locks. "I honestly don't think it has anything to do with you or Miracle. I think he just needs to talk." I waltzed over to the bathroom to comfort her. I came up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. shoving my hands into the front of her Elmo hoodie.
   "You can't do this now," She loosened up a little as I began to bite her ear lobe. I squeezed her in tighter and tigher and kissed down her neck harder and harder until she broke away. "Okay, well I'm going to get the girls and go now."
   "Be careful. I love you guys." She unplugged her straightener and I followed her out of the bathroom to slip on her red hightops. I grabbed her purse and turned to leave; I smacked her bum just to let her know she was mine. With a slight squeal and a smirk she left.
   I left the flat around quarter to two and headed to the cafe. Honestly, now I was starting to get worried about meeting him there. What if Amber was right and he wanted to take Miracle because of me? I thought of the worst possible outcomes on the short, five minute ride over there.
   By the time I pulled in, the fictional scenarios had gotten way out of control; they were literally making me sick to my stomach. Liam had already gotten there when I pulled in so I had to walk in with confidence. "Hey mate! How've you been?"
   Although I reached my hand out to him, he had gotten up and taken me into a hug. I guess he was alright with me being around his daughter. I instantly felt guilty again once I thought about what Amber and I had done last night. "Hey Niall. That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about."
   We sat down and had a coffee together as he told me about his relationship with Danielle. He said that they started fooling around after Grace and Finn's wedding; he told me that seeing Amber dance with me sort of instagaited it. But he made it perfectly clear that the relationship was strictly physical.
   "At first it felt good, but now it makes me feel bad about myself. I don't like feeling like a bad person." He ran his hand over his head and stared off at the floor.
   "You're not though. You're a great friend and father and," He cut me off mid sentence.
   "And that's another thing; what would Miracle think of me if she knew? I know I wouldn't be proud to call myself 'Dad' when I had a guy like you as a stepfather."
   "Don't even say that, Liam." I started to raise my voice a tad at him; he shouldn't put himself through this. "Miracle loves you and she always will. You're her father." I saw tears start to whell up in his eyes.
   "And that's why I ended it with her. For my daughter." I stood up and brought my dear mate in for a hug, knowing that his heart was broken. I was proud of him though; he did the right thing.
   "Hey, how about you come back to the flat and when the girls come home we'll have a nice evening with them?" He nodded his head in agreement and we headed back to my flat. I hope Amber and the girls would be okay with this.
