For the
Love of
Senior
chapter one
Bailey's
P.O.V
It was offical. Tomorrow I would be a freshman at HC, following
in the footsteps of my big brother Richie Dewitt. He had already
texted me just before I layed down.
Richie: good luck tomorrow squirt. hope you get a good mentor
:)
Ahhh, the mentor program. I've heard so much about this.
Richie's senior year they created the mentor program.
Every year since senior was assigned a freshman to work
with throughout the year. When Richie was a senior him and his
freinds Hallie, Cami, and Matt had a very exciting group to say
the least. Richie would always come home with stories about what
drama was going on with his group of kids. It was intense and I
hoped to god I didn't deal with this kind of drama my
freshman year. The mentor program was a big reason I choose HC.
(yes, I was actually considering other schools). Having someone
around all year that could help me out whenever we need it.
Someone to just vent to when your having a bad day. It sounded
perfect to me. There was one downfall about going to HC, having
to live up to the Dewitt name. Richie was a stud athlete in high
school, were talking senior vasrsity quaterback, point guard on
the basketball team and stud pitcher. Yeah my brother was the
male athlete of the year. Two years in a row! He gave me big
shoes to fill. Thanks a lot Richie!

It was offically day one at HC. I was determinded this was going
to be okay. I was going to be me. I was going to be Bailey and my
year was going to be drama free. My mom dropped me off that
morning and Richie told me the first thing to do was go to the
auditorium. I found a few girls from last year and sat with them.
I wasn't really in with a lot of the girls last year. I hung
out with guys a lot and the girls didn't like it. Guys have
less drama but me hanging out with them did cause drama. I only
really had one friend who was girl and that was Kylie Thomas. I
hadn't seen Kylie this morning yet. Finally someone plopped
next to me. Sweet relief.
"Hey." Kylie said.
"Hey. Finally." I giggled.
"Shut-up. I couldn't figure out what to wear."
For the first time ever, we got to be out of uniform on the first
day at school. I wore a pair of yoga pants and a park district
baseball shirt. Kylie had on similar pants and a LOVE PINK shirt
from Victoria Secret. We whispered throught out the rest of the
welcoming assembly and before we knew it, it was time to go to
homeroom. When I got to homeroom there were six people who looked
like under classmen standing in the room. I stopped in my tracks
when one caught my eye. Oh.my.god he was so cute. Bailey
focus. I found myself a seat, distracting myself from the
guy infront of the room. When the room filled up one of the
people infront finally spoke.
"Hi guys, my name is Zach Murphy. I'm a senior here and
this year the mentor program is changed up a bit. Instead of
assign all of you an individual mentor, your homeroom gets the
mentor. Hence the six seniors here in your room. The programs
does range from sophomores to seniors, you guys were just lucky
enough to get all seniors." He looked at his fellow
classmates. "Why don't you guys introduce
yourseleves?" The girl on the far left spoke first.
"I'm Melissa."
"Erica."
"Sarah."
"Like I said Zach."
"Mike."
Then finally it was the cute guy. I swear he looked right at me
when he said,
"Chad."
