By the time everybody exited the classroom it
had already been 15 minutes since the bell rang. Justin had
texted me and so I needed to quickly leave before he'd wonder
where I was.
Justin was Aunt Cassidy's son, I was very close to him even
though he's 5 years my senior. We got along great and he
understood me. “Mr Parker,” I said slowly. “You
wanted to speak to me?”
“Oh yes, you know Courtney
Lake?” I nodded. “I went through your quiz and
you've done very well, would you be able to tutor her.”
I was tempted to say No. I didn't want to tutor her, she
didn't want me to tutor her so what was the point?
“Yes.” As I said it, I
automatically regretted it.
“Thank you, Logan.” He
got up and walked out of the classroom, we both walked in silence
until I reached my locker. I quickly got my bag and walked out of
the school. Justin was leaning against his car.
“About time,” he teased
when I reached him.
“Sorry.”
“Where were
you?”
“The teacher wanted to talk to
me.”
“Naughty Logan.” I
rolled my eyes. “Lets get going because our mums are
probably wondering where we are.”
“Oh yeah.”
“Are you okay with all of
this... I mean of you're not,” Justin bubbled. He
wrapped his arms around me, “Don't worry, in the end
everything will be alright.” I pulled away,
chuckling.
“That has to be the deepest
thing you've ever said.” Justin was very handsome with,
a couple of years ago I had the biggest crush on him now I
didn't see him as anything more than a brother.
“Justin?” Somebody who
sounded a lot like Mr Parker said.
Great.
“Hey Zach, what are you doing
here?”
Zach Parker... that was his full name.
“I got a job here, you know
Logan?”
“Yeah, so you did get the job,
nice. Is Logie-Bear here a good student?” Justin
winked.
Well isn't this just fantastic.
I shifted uncomfortably, couldn't we just leave?
“Nope,” Mr Parker
replied.
“Hey!” I exclaimed.
Justins phone beeped and after a moment, he looked at
me.
“That's my mum, we have to
go. Zach, I'll text you. I had no idea you were
here.”
“Alright, mate.
Bye.”
I murmured, “bye.” Justin and I got into the car and
he smiled at me. “What?” I asked,
self-consciously.
“Somebody has a
crush,” he teased, laughing.
