The Letter. THE CHANGE.
The Lie.
Chapter 73:
July 6
*Katia's POV*
My face was glued to the taxi cab window as we drove to the
hotel. I didn't know how long we were staying, so I didn't
want to miss any opportunity to see the city. I watched as people
started their day, walking down the cobble stone streets. The
summer sun was coming up over the horizon line and starting on its
path through the clear blue sky. At the airport Lou told me that it
was an hour later here so now it was 7.
We turned and pulled into the hotel
parking lot. I turned my head to stare at the building I would be
staying at and was left in utter awe. Salmon colored bricks
covered the structure that was at least 7 floors high and almost
twice as wide. Small windows in pairs of two covered the walls,
and most looked out over the water to our left. Towers shot up
from the roof, topped with sea blue cones.
Louis must of looked over and saw
me in my state of amazement. "It used to be a flour mill.
They restored it and turned it into a hotel."
"It's amazing," I
heard myself say. Of course that fact appealed to the history
nerd in me, making the hotel that much better.
I slowly opened the car door and
stepped out. Not to far away was a sidewalk that jutted right up
to the water edge, and a small dock stood mere inches above the
water. Even though I wanted to walk over and see more my need for
sleep was greater.
I started to grab our bags as Louis
thanked and payed the driver. I glanced back out at the city one
last time before grabbing a bag and walking into the hotel. I
oohed and aahed at the interior of the old building while Louis
checked us in.
I felt him walk up behind me. His
hand pressed against the small off my back as he told me we could
go to our room. He led to me to an elevator which I reluctantly
got in. We didn't say much on the ride up, I think we were
both too tired. After climbing 8 floors, the elevator doors
opened. I started to walk absentmindedly down the hallway,
looking at everything around me. Black wooden doors lined the
wall as we walked up a flight of stairs. I started to walk past
another door when Louis's hand pulled me back.
"This is our room," he
told me as he retrieved the key from his back pocket. In a matter
of seconds the door was unlocked and we were walking in.
The open room was covered in a tan
wallpaper with shades of browns and white running horizontally
through it. A dark wooden pole stood in the middle of the room,
probably a support beam. A plush, off white couch sat in front a
large flat screen tv. Small side tables made of the same wood as
the door and the support beam filled in gaps and small gold
accent pieces sat on top of them. I walked through the room over
to a large window on the opposite wall. I moved the red curtain
and stared out over the city.
I turned around after a moment and
saw Louis walk through a doorway. I was slightly confused until I
realized that was probably the bedroom. I followed him and
watched from the doorway as he put the bags down on the floor and
then stripped off his shirt. He turned around and found me
leaning against the wood paneling.
"Like what you see?" he
asked, a grin plastered across his face. Smiling I walked over to
where he was standing and draped my arms behind his neck.
"Yeah, I do," I told him
before quickly pressing my lips against his. I started to pull
away so I could go lie down and get some sleep, but his hands,
which were resting on my hips, pulled me back.
My eyes connected with his, they
seemed to search mine as if looking for some unknown
answer. He must of found it though, because the corners of his
mouth curled upwards. In a swift motion one of his arms wrapped
around my wrist as one knocked my knees out from under me and
lifted me up.
"Lou what are you doing?"
I asked, a hint of laughter in my voice. He carried me across the
room to the large king sized bed. He gently lowered me down, and
moved his arms so one was on each side of me.

had to split it into 2 parts!
