Keeping
Secrets
Chapter
14:
We let Lane choose the movie and he after a few minutes, he
finally decided on The Lion King. Lane laid on his mini Cars
fold-out couch, and I rested underneath Hunter's arm on the
big couch. Shortly after the moive started, Lane's eyes
started to close. He fell asleep and it was just Hunter and I
watching the moive.
About 3 quarters of the way through the movie Hunter piped
up,
"Look at the snow."
I glanced out the window and saw nothing but white earth.
"Oh my gosh, how deep is it?"
Hunter shrugged,
"It looks like just a couple of inches, nothing too bad!
So after the movie, we can put Lane to bed and then I'll
head home."
I buried myself in his chest,
"I don't want you to go."
He tightened his arm around me and kissed me on the
forehead,
"Then I'm not going anywhere!"
I looked up and smiled, he laughed slightly but retured his
gaze towards the TV screen. About 20 minutes later the credits
ran up the screen and I looked back up at Hunter to see his
eyes shut. I smiled at how cute he was, but wiggled my way out
from underneath his arm. I picked up Lane and carried him to
his room, sliding him beneath the blankets of his bed. I kissed
him quickly and then made my way to the door, flipping the
switch as I walked out. I got into the living room and Hunter
was sitting up,
"Oh! There you are!" He murmered in a sleepy
voice.
I smiled and whispered,
"C'mon, let's go to bed."
He stood silently and followed behind me up the stairs. I found
the door knob in the black of the hallway and slowly turned it,
finding the switch on the other side. I crawled under the cold
covers and noticed Hunter at the door.
"Will you lay with me?"
Hunter smiled and nodded his head. He turned off the light and
slid underneath the blankets. His arm found me and pulled me
closer. He whispered quietly,
"I had a bad dream.."
I looked up into the darkness at his face,
"What happened?"
His arm was tense around me,
"I dreamt that you hated me, and.."
His voice cracked,
"and you left." I felt a warm tear drop onto my
hand. I reached quickly for the lamp, and clicked it on. I
turned back to Hunter and wiped the a tear from his cheek,
"Hunter, don't cry, I'm right here, and I'm
not going anywhere. I love you!" He stared deep into my
eyes and I pushed my lips into his. He kissed me back and
whispered quietly,
"I love you too."
I turned the lamp off and Hunter pulled me as close to him as I
could be. He rested his hand on my left side and rubbed it
gently,
"Goodnight, beautiful."
I smiled and snuggled in close to his chest,
"Goodnight."
