Sometimes, you just have to accept things as they are. People included.

That one night
I was walking behind a woman when I was on my way home. She started walking faster, so I walked faster, too. Then she started running, so I ran, too. Suddenly she screamed, so I ran even faster. All the while I had no idea what we were running from. 

When I was little
