The little things, the finer things; I think they matter the most. Why do people not seem to notice why I prefer being on my roof rather than be with people? Or why I flinch whenever I hear or see certain words, or why I hold my coffee cup with my left hand and use my right hand to gently touch the side of the handle as if it is the most delicate piece of porcelain. Why not notice the fact that I find comfort in the dark rather than in family gatherings? Or why some nights I switch off my phone for the sole purpose of not ''losing myself''. You won't notice why there are so many scribbles all over these pages because I couldn't find the correct words to accurately describe my feelings... but these are feelings and no matter how hard I'll try, I can never put them into words as much as I think I can. I don't think you'll notice why I hate too much sugar in my tea or why I seem to be consumed by this overwhelming urge to pay attention to all the details. Maybe that's why they call me observant, maybe I just don't want to miss out on life, maybe it's because of my strong belief that the answers are all there. In the details.
