The thoughts running through my head were thoughts that didn’t make me happy in the least bit. I went out to the guest house to get the phone, but it was locked, so I went back to the house. It was locked. I was stuck outside. I knew this was the time, in less than ten minutes I would be dead.     I ran around the house to check every single door and window. None were unlocked. Someone was chasing me now through the corn field behind my house. I was screaming, hoping for someone to hear my yelling and come save me. No one heard it. I was stuck between this man who was trying to kill me and a tree.     My life was over. But I tried to stay strong. I kept running as fast as I could hoping he wouldn’t catch up to me. The adrenaline rush inside my body made me want to cry. I held myself in and just kept running. I turned around while I was running. He was gone. I knew he would be back.     He chased me back to the house, I had no where to go. I pleaded for him to let me go. He wasn’t about to just let me off that easily. He stabbed me in the back. I fell to the ground and he kicked and hit me. He stabbed me once more in the stomach. Now he thought for sure I was dead. But I was still conscious, trying my best not to die.     I couldn’t feel any of my body. My parents came home, and noticed me lying on the ground, almost dead. They called the ambulance immediately. They didn’t think I would make it. They also didn’t know who did this to me. Whoever did it would pay the consequence. They rushed me to the Emergency Room where they did all they could to save me.     Finally they stopped the bleeding and got me into surgery as soon as they could. I had survived, with minor injuries to my spine. That night made me think twice about my life. I appreciated every little thing I had. My parents never made me stay home by myself again.     We got a new dog almost a year after this had happened. We named her Rosie, she was a golden retriever. It was the two year anniversary. My parents, my brother, and I were sitting around the Monopoly board, the phone rang and my dad answered. There was a screeching noise. I could hear it loud and clear, and it reminded me of that awful night. I never wanted to relive anything that happened. My life was never going to be the same.     Now every time I answered the phone I could hear that screeching in my ear and it gave me pains in my spine. This man had now killed my family and everyone who had importance in my life. I would never let this go. My life was ruined. Now I was only seconds away from death. All I could do was pray for my life now.

The Phone Call      I sat there, in the house that some how and someway made me feel oddly uncomfortable. I’d lived there for as long as I can remember, I sensed the presence of another individual. I figured I must have been going crazy, it was possible, because I had just watched a scary movie hours before.     The phone rang .. After I let it ring but a few times, I gradually answered it, picking it up carefully. I knew that whoever it was on the other end had to hear the crack in my voice, as I said, “H-hello?”     My mom was on the other end, asking if I was doing all right. My heart had skipped a beat, I was terrified, but I don’t think my mom noticed. I couldn’t tell her I was worried, she would never let me stay home alone again if I did. So I lied to her. I told her I was just reading my book. She didn’t say much after that, then a few moments later the phone got disconnected. Now, I couldn’t breathe. I tried to forget about it.     Now, I just sat there, reading with the television off, and only a few lights shone down so I was able to read. My cell phone rang, the caller ID said, “Unavailable.” I answered, but couldn’t tell who it was. I hung up.     I heard noises downstairs in the basement, it sounded like something falling, but I couldn’t be too sure. I was scared, so I went outside to get my dog, but she wasn’t outside. I called my dads cell phone, he didn’t answer, while I was leaving a message, I heard breathing, so I hung up. Now, I was as worried as a person could get.     I went outside, calling my dog’s name, “Daisy? Daisy? Daisy?” She didn’t come. I was horrified. It had started to rain, so I stopped looking. My dad had called back while I was outside, I couldn’t comprehend what the message said, it was shaky, and worry sum.     I walked down the hall, and saw my dog, lying on the wood floor, blood all around her. She was dead. I couldn’t fathom what had happened to her. I started crying and ran in my bed room, I closed locked the door behind me. There I was, standing there, I didn’t know what to do now. I was scared out of my mind. I hid in my closet.     I walked back to the green room, where I noticed all the birds, still. The caretaker, so I thought asleep in her chair, turned out to be dead. It seemed as though she was strangled to death. But honestly, what did I know. I was only fifteen years old. The one thing I did know, was that there is someone or something lurking in my house.     I suddenly called our neighbors, the Qwuil’s, they rushed right over, to see the caretaker, gone out of her chair and the dog no where to be found either. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. They didn’t say so, but I could tell they thought I was over reacting. They went back to their house, and called my parents. I already knew what my parents were going to say, so I didn’t bother to call them back.     The noise I kept hearing was like the noise of fingers on a chalk board. Screeching. I knew for a fact that tonight would be the worst night of my entire life. I checked the clock in my room, it was already nine thirty. I felt the tremble in my body as I reached for the phone, and realized that it wasn’t there anymore.     Now I knew that I wasn’t going to be alive after tonight. I couldn’t breathe anymore. I sat on my bed and tried to cry myself asleep, but I couldn’t sleep. It was dark outside when I looked out the window, so I knew it had to be after ten now. The loud screeching continued. It was plastered into my brain now, I would never forget it.     My cell phone rang. I ran to the kitchen to grab it off the counter to answer it. I answered it and it was my mom. She told me to calm down and not to worry. She told me they’d be home in an hour. I knew whoever was in my house, was going to kill me before then. I had no chance. I turned on the TV and tried to forget about the horrible night I’d been having. It didn’t work, I couldn’t do it. It was like the screeching noise, it would never leave my mind.

-This is only half of it.
