what do I see?
a young, small girl
she’s looking at me.
she has a face
of an innocent child
her expression is kind
her eyes soft and mild
I look even deeper
and what do I find?
a girl who isn’t afraid
to speak her mind.
a heart beating true
choosing right things to do
standing up for the team
as she follows her dreams.

I'm always a mess. I can never keep my own secrets. I laugh too
hard at stupid things. My favorite songs make me cry. I
always watch for 11:11, but i miss it more than i notice it. I live in
the past,in the memories i have with the people i love. I hate
thinking about reality & i'm so homesick that its not even funny.
But i'm not homesick in a missing my house kind of way...maybe it's
more like heartsick for all the things that i can't get back. It's
hard for me to define myself.. I guess i'm just a girl--the girl
who loved too hard & didn't get anything in return. i don't want to
be the heroine in some tragic love story, i just want the one person
who has never given me a second thought.

And the kids drove out of sight.
I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece,
I never knew what was coming, Mom
Something I expected least.
Now I'm Lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say,
The kid that caused this wreck was drunk,
Mom, his voice seems so far away.
My own blood's all around me,
As i try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedic say,
This girl is going to die.
I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While he was flying high,
Because he chose to drink and drive,
Now I would have to die.
So why do people do it, Mom
*Knowing** that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me,
Like a hundred stabbing knives.
Tell sister not to be afraid, Mom
Tell daddy to be brave,
And when I go to heaven,
Put Daddy's Girl on my grave.
Someone should have taught him,
That its wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had,
I'd still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom
I'm getting really scared.
These are my last moments,
