As I sat on the bus,
I listened to a 2nd grade conversation
between a boy and a girl.
I asked the girl if she was his girlfriend,
and I asked the boy if he was her boyfriend.
The girl said "no" but the boy said "yes"
The girl turns to him and says "What?"
The boy says "I've liked you ever since preschool."
The girl says "Really? I've liked you ever since preschool too."
And then, the boy grabs her hand and the girl leans on his shoulder
and they rode like that in silence, until they had to get off the bus.
