Finally the whispers stopped. Next period I have biology. Hopefully not with Sean. I sat in math class thinking about everything. I wasn’t really paying any attention to the teacher, she was just reviewing last years stuff, I already knew 9^th grade math I didn’t need review. Finally, the bell rang. I sat motionless for a second, I felt immoble. Finally I gathered the strength to get up. I started walking out of the room. As soon as I got towards the door, I hear my name. “Jessica!” it was Sean. “Oh, um hi Sean,” I said. “So I’m glad we have some classes together… “Wait,” I interrupted him, “what made you talk to me, I mean I’m just a freshman, you could have any older girl you wanted, or even any younger girls. A lot of the girls in my grade are prettier than me so I don’t understand.” “Well , I mean I want to get to know you.. I don’t want to just jump right into things..” He was making me look like an idiot, like he didn’t want to ‘get with me’ but I knew his game. “Oh, alright.” I replied blankly and started to walk off. He chased after me. “So listen, you’re like, the most beautiful girl out of all my friends, I just thought I’d let you know that.” “Umm, thanks.” I was playing hard to get. “Yeah, no problem…what do you have now?” “Biology.” “Damn, are you in all advanced classes?” “Pretty much.” “Wow, beautiful and smart.” “Haha, thanks.” “Listen, I have English next, let me walk you to biology? Give me your books, I’ll hold them for you.” Sean shot me a smile. “Um, okay, thanks?” I said. I’m not really used to guys talking to me, let alone walking me to class. We walked, pretty much in silence, other than little things about school and teachers. Finally, room 312, biology with Mrs. Peters. “Here are your books, cutie. What do you have after biology?” “Free.” “Oh, me too, see you there.” He handed me my books and ran off to catch up with one of his friends. I walked in the classroom. I suddenly realized everyone knew what Sean was saying, they must have heard from outside the door.  I put my head down and walked to an empty seat in the back. “Hey, your name’s Jessica, right?” “Yeah.” “I’m Alexandria.” “Oh, hey.” “So, I see that Sean Kennedy is talking to you?” “Yeah, everyone knows already? It’s only second period!” “Hahaha, yeah pretty much everyone knows. Listen, I know his game, stay away from him. He may be cute and all, but just stay away.” I knew to stay away from Sean, I just didn’t want to. Even if he did play me, jokes on him because he doesn’t deserve me. “Uhh, okay, thanks for the advice.” “Anytime.” Alexandria walked away, she walked back to her little clique and started to giggle. I knew they were giggling about me. I didn’t care though. “Wait, Jessica?” Alexandria said from across the room. “Your brother is Dominick Zizza, right? The Junior?” “Umm, yeah, why?” “Nothing, I was just wondering. He’s gorgeous.” I didn’t really know how to respond. “I’ll be sure to tell him you said that.” Wow, was that dumb.  “Hahahha, okay, tell me what he says.” I smiled at she looked away. I hate high school.
