Lovely and
Limp 10:
Dylan's P.O.V.
Jenna looked up at me, like a little kid,
grinning. But nine-year-olds don't wrap their arms around
your neck and kiss you lovingly the way she did. I smiled at her
and she took my hand again.
"Aw! Where's my boyfriend when I need
him!" Maggie pouted.
"At least you have a boyfriend," Sarah
muttered. She and Jacob had broken up over the summer. They
weren't totally perfect from the start, but then she found
out he was cheating on her anyway. Poor girl.
Jenna and Maggie obviously also heard Sarah's mumble, because
they exchanged looks and nodded. They must have sent some
telepathic girl message to one another or something.
"Sarah, Maggz and I want you to know we have just made it
official that our mission this year-"
"IS TO FIND YOU A MAN!" Maggie let out excitedly and
giggled.
"Oh, ugh, guys! Come on, you don't have to-" Sarah
begged.
"Nope! No. It's already done. You can't change our
minds!" Maggie interrupted, skipping away into the
school.
"Jenna?"
"Sorry Sare. But, we feel almost... guilty that we
aren't doing everything we can to make you happy." she
tried to explain.
"But I am happy Jen! ... Yeah, it sucks to be
the third or fifth wheel sometimes.... But, do you guys really
have to-"
"Listen, Sarah," I added. "You know you're
like a sister to me, but I agree with Jenna. It'll be good
for you to date... and plus, I have a bunch of single friends
that would be lucky to have a girl like you," I persuaded.
"But you need to know... and keep in mind that... not every
guy is going to treat you like Jacob." I tried to
sound sincere enough.
She nodded in understanding. Jenna and I gave her a big hug and
we turned to the school's front doors to start our first day
of Junior year. But I saw something. Out of the corner of my eye,
entering the parking lot, was Grace's
Jeep.
