How Holidays Have Changed...

Age 6:
Grandma's House - Grandma, two aunts, one uncle, mom, dad, brother, and six cousins. 
*At Pappy's by 6:00*
Pappy's House - Pappy, two aunts, one uncle, mom, dad, brother, five cousins. 
*Home by 11:00*

Age 11:
Great-Grandma's House - No more grandma, one aunt, one uncle, mom, dad, brother, and two cousins. Grandma died when I was 10, one aunt is on the streets on drugs, one cousin with other family, three cousins in a foster home.
*At pappy's by 3:30*

Pappy's House - Pappy, two aunts, one uncle, mom, dad, brother, five cousins, two boyfriends. 
*Home by 10:00*

Age 14:
At my house - On the phone with Great-grandma because I no longer have a grandma, both aunts are on the streets on drugs, one cousin adopted, three cousins in a foster home, one cousin living with her boyfriend, one cousin with another family member who is eating at great-grandma's house. 

Still at my house - Pappy, one uncle and his girlfriend, one aunt and her boyfriend, mom, dad, brother, five cousins and two husbands, plus a new little cousin.
*Everyone gone by 9:30*

Age 16:
At my house - On the phone with great-grandma because i dont have a grandma, one aunt got murdered summer of '09, one aunt is on drugs and pregnant, one uncle just got out of jail, five cousins adopted, one cousin in rehab, one cousin in a detention center, one cousin living with her mom. 

Still at my house - Two aunts, one of which is the one on drugs and pregnant, mom, dad, brother, and two cousins because pappy died the summer of '09.
*Everyone is gone by 7:00*


I wish things would go back to the way they were
when I was 6.
