Rollercoaster of Life
Life is a crazy ride at
your favorite amusement park.
The people in line are like
those in your life.
Some stay in the line for a
little while, then chicken out and leave.
They get scared of
what's coming at the end of the line.
They help you here and
there, encourage you, pep talk you, then leave.
Then there are the ones who
you get attached to.
You want them by you on the
ride.
They hold your hand when
you're scared to move up in the line.
They talk you through it,
comfort you, fight for your spot on that ride,
But when you're next to
get on, they go for the EXIT.
They realize they can't
do it either, like the others.
"Good Luck" they
say, walking down those steps on to another path.
Leaving you stranded there,
thinking you're alone on this ride.
The ride pulls up, stops as
the passengers are getting off.
You start debating whether
you can go through with it.
The gates open for you to
step on.
Feeling so alone, you start
backing away, saying to yourself,
"I can't do this
alone." Then you feel a hand on your shoulder.
"We can do this.
It'll be fine."
The ones who were with you
the whole time.
They stood in line with
you, strong, prepared.
They have been on this ride
before.
They know it'll all be
worth it in the end.
You step on the ride,
strong, and proud.
Surrounded by those who
have fought for you,
loved you, helped you in
every way they could.
They made you who you are
today.
The ride starts, you're
scared you won't make it,
Scared that you'll lose
the ones you love.
You make it up and down the
hills, through the loops,
Turns, and spins. The ride
comes to an end.
You step off the ride, look
across and see someone else
In line, scared. You turn
and say, "It's worth it, You can do it"
You smile and walk down
those steps to get on another
Life changing
experience.
