'Pick Me'
Chapter 2
I just sat there. He
looked at me. 'What? ' I said, not even realizing how
rude it came out.
'I wanted to get to know you better. You seem like a nice girl and you're beautiful.' he said and smiled. I stood up. "Oh, please. You don't think I see all the pictures of you kissing your fans and the girls in your music video? Well, you thought wrong cause I do. I don't want to be your next 'victim.' So, if that what you're trying to do. Then I'm out." I yelled and started walking away. He grabbed my hand and pulled me back. "I kissed them, because I had to. I'm not trying to do that to you at all. I really want to get to know you, Bree. Honestly. I wouldn't play you like that." he said calmly. For some reason, it seemed he was really telling the truth. He looked down and he realized he was still holding my hand, he let go and casually put his hand in his pocket. "Stay please." he said with a cute puppy dog face. I giggled and sat back down, closer to him. I looked into his eyes. I never really notice but they were really pretty. He looked into mine. "So Bree. Tell me about yourself." he smiled. "Well.." I started. "My name is Bree Isabelle Hamston. I'm 17. My birthday is March 3rd. I love dogs, but I don't have one." Justin's face lit up. I continued. "Cats freak me out. My favorite flower is a rose. And uhhh. My favorite season is Winter. Oh, and I don't really like chocolate." I smiled. Justin smiled real big. "We have a lot in common." he said. I looked at him. "Really, how so? " He started. "Well for starters, My birthday is March 1st. I'm 17. I love dogs. I do have one named Sammy. Cats freak me out as well. And, I don't really like chocolate either." He laughed. I love his laugh. "Tell me more about you." I pleaded. "Okay, my favorite season is Summer because I love to skateboard. I love purple. My lucky number is six. My favorite drink is Orange juice. But my favorite food is Spaghetti. I also love tacos. Uh, I like Sour Patch Kids, but I'm starting to get tired of them. I hate chocolate, but I couldn't refuse a twix. My parents are divorced. I have a younger step sister and brother. Jazzy and Jaxon. And I guess that's it." He said. "I need to know more about you." He told me. I felt like I could trust this kid and I barely know him. I laughed. "Mhmm, I do skateboard." He smiled huge. "My favorite color is blue. My lucky number is as well six. My favorite drink is Red Bull. I love tacos. My favorite candy is starburst. I have a younger sister, Ali. Who's six." I smiled. " Are your parents together?" He asked. I looked straight into his eyes. "My mom is widowed. My dad died while my mom was pregnant with Ali. I was 11." He hugged me. I liked his hug, it was comforting. "I'm sorry. I didn't know." I laughed. "It's okay, It feels good to tell someone." I smiled and he smiled. I reached for his hand and held it. He interlocked our fingers and smiled at me. "So, what do you say we go and hang out? Go for a walk or something?" he suggested. "I'd love to." I said as he helped me up. Still holding my hand we went for a walk along the beach in the back. We were laughing and giggling when a swarm of paparazzi and fans came and surrounded us. Justin's contagious, beautiful smile went to a boring frown. Oh no, I thought. What if the start asking if I'm Justin's girlfriend? What if the hate me. What do I say? What do I do? Deep breathes. I thought. Deep breathes.
