A Shot in
the
Dark
Chapter
3
I rounded the corner of
yet another hallway. My watch read 7:57. I had exactly
three minutes to find my homeroom or I would be marked
late! Panic started rising inside of me and my pace
quickened. Without falling on my face I managed to dodge
two opening doors and a water fountain. I did not,
however, have any luck dodging people. Because right
as I turned to walk down a hallway someone
was coming from the other direction.
And by the way,
that someone just
so happened to be the most gorgeous guy I had ever
seen.
I wanted to bury myself
under something where no one would ever see me. Ever.
Again. But instead I ended up flying to the
floor.
“Woah! I am so
sorry.” I opened my eyes to a boy who looked like he
was about to laugh hysterically. What a jerk. He
didn’t even offer to help me as I stood
up.
“Yeah. You look
it.” I turned and started walking
away.
“Hey! Hold up a
sec.”
“What?” I
stopped and said.
“You’re
new.” He said as if he had just realized something
extraordinary.
“Wow, how did you
guess!” I said sarcastically and rolled my
eyes.
“Listen
I—” I held up a hand.
“I have to
go.” And with that I started walking
away.
“Room
215…” He called after me.
“…is that way.”
How did he know that?! I turned abruptly on my heel and
stalked past him.
~I must learn to accept
myself, along with all of my
imperfections~
