Mom: I don't understand why everyone gets so worked up over guys in high school. You probably won't marry any guy you meet in high school. There is a world filled with guys out there that you haven't met. You have your whole life a head of you.
Me: I worry about guys now because I don't want to be alone. I want to get married.
Mom: When you meet the right guy, you won't even think about whether or not he's the right guy or not. He probably won't even be 'popular'. He'll be shy and sweet, and hold you above anything. He'll put you first and you'll put him first. You two will be all the other cares about. There is someone out there for everyone. Love is patient, so don't rush into it. Love will find you, and when it does, you won't need to think twice about it.
