well, i think for characters you should have a different range; like have a , have a really sweet girl, a jerk, and an amazing guy..
personally i like love storys but if you want to be different, maybe you could do something to do with family, or something you have experienced before:)
hope i helped;) if you liked my advice you can just ask for more<3
You seem to be getting a lot of suggestions, which is great, but can be confusing haha(: I'll try to stick to general stuff. I've always been toying with the idea of a hospital. There's kind of a whole society going on in there, and you could have the main character be a sick patient, a nurse, a surgeon, or anything. I always find rotating POVs interesting too, to show different voices and reveal info in a way that keeps you curious. Some generic characters: Linda, a flighty, happy-go-lucky type who hates being tied down; Sully, the youngest of a big family who hates being babied; Charlie, a cocky guy with a little sister he cares about more than anything; Wendy, a runaway who bolted when pressure got to her. Hope this helped(:
My opinion, don't write a sappy love story. Of corse, having an underlying love triangle or issue is always good, but base the story around something like family based drama (i.e. divorce, old rich family member dying, sibling involved with drugs, someone gets sick, etc) or maybe something interesting like a person's life through the eyes of their pet dog or fish or something.
Setting: probably something in an urban area so there's more going on, rural areas can get boring.
Names: don't use common names like John, Elizabeth, Ryan, Taylor, etc. Unique names add fun to the story and people are more apt to remember them. I like names like Avery, Ryder, Ashlynn, or Landon. (if you need any others, I'm happy to help because I love unique names) the named should also have something to do with the character's personality. If a girl in naive, you would want a name like Mary-Grace over something like Lennox. You know what I mean? Any questions, just comment only profile or something. I'd love to help if you like my ideas :)
u could do something about girl who's boyfriend or husband is in the army or something. or her dad could be a teacher/sargent at an army school and the daughter is forced to stay there and ends up liking a guy or something like that. idk, im kind of on an armed forces kick right now haha
ok, im basically going to give you an outline for a story. you can get some ideas from it.
plot: a country had always wanted to live in the city. and now her dream was finally coming true. but its not what it was all cracked up to be. with drama from her new school, to adjusting to her new lifestyle, living in the city proves to be a huge mistake that cannot be erased.
names: (just throwin some out here) ashley mitchel, wylie sterling, brian gaiters, rachel edwards, colton flood, hannah granger
Main character: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3615/3478286777_800c59a2f0.jpg
idk just a brainstorm off the top of my head. i have alot of ideas if you need any help, im great at coming up with tons of different storylines if you dont like that one :)
sorry if this comment was kinda long haha
That's a cool idea! I'm getting so many ideas right now that it's going to be difficult to try to blend them together, but I'll try my best!
& Mary-Sues are when a character is perfect and is amazing and blah blah, right ?
OKAY SO what captures my attention is dystopias (end-of-the-world scenarios) and sci-fi. I'm a nerd like that ;D Anyway, you HAVE to make things interesting. Try your hardest not to make Mary-Sue characters. (you can research that online cuz im too lazy to explain what that means if you dont know.)
IDEAS:
1.) A brick wall. A boring old brick wall sits between my house and something I do not know of. I am not allowed to cross over the brick wall. I do not know why. The people on my side are disappearing. [INSERT FRIEND NAME HERE] says that the people on the other side are taking them.
Girls names: Lorelai, Culen, Annaliese, Anastasia, Belladonna, Daisy, Meghan, Grace, Maddi, Jenna
Boys names: Jack, Scott, Kellath, Garret, Vince, Bronson, Julio, Chris, Kyle, Matt, James, Phil
people on witty tend to enjoy love stories that are very dramatic. But personally i like mysteries and horror, and scifi... so maybe try to incoprate all the genres iinto one story.
ill help you write<3 i have my own story in my quotes if you wana check it out!?
Makee sure we can really connect with the charecters, we should feel an emotional attachment so when something happens to them we are either really happy, really sad, really angry, really stressed. you know? haha anywayss. for the main like plot, a girl/ boy should be in a car accident (or any accident) that messes up there short term memory, over night, all memory of tht day is erased. so say u use a girl and shes the one who get sin the accident, well this boy comes along and he falls in love with her, and everyday he makes her fall in love with him again, with the hopes that eventually she will remember him. good luck!<3
hey for girl characters i like... olivia melissa audrey amanda and sam and for guys i like ryan josh jake chris corey jason spencer JT CJ .... use these if it helps :)
