I think this non-format filled weekend has taught us all a few things.
First of all, I am truly happy that Steve did this. I'm so happy for all of the members who are now getting top quotes, and getting more faves, and getting recognized because of this detox weekend. :) I think that's great. But I do have to say, that I don't think format is always a bad thing. Sure, it's not fair that "pretty" quotes get more attention than plain quotes,  and yes, we've realized that the content of the quote is what's truly important...BUT it's also shown us that a Witty without color, format and style is a Witty without originality. A Witty where every quote looks the same. Dull, colorless, expressionless. Without the option to truly make it your own, what is Witty? I think we can all agree that this has been eye-opening, and I'm sure we'll all pay more attention to the quotes without format from now on, because I'm sure we've all missed some pretty amazing quotes just because we pay less attention to the "non-pretty" quotes. But in my opinion - and I can only speak for myself here - I think that format on Witty is a good thing. We as human beings don't all look the same, and our quotes shouldn't either.. I think it's great that we can spend hours working on format for our quote, and get attention for it. I think it's awesome that we have the chance to make our quote original, and make it look completely different from everyone elses. So, in conclusion, I think that inner content is truly what's most important, but it's great that we DO have the opportunity to make our quotes "pretty" according to our own personal preferences.
