The Dea d line
Chapter One | Maci's
POV
Hey, my name’s Marci but I go by Maci.
I’m a pretty normal fifteen year old girl – Heart
break, tears, laughs and late night parties – the usual.
But little did I know - my life would change completely in the
next year. It all started on the second week of September, but
we’ll start at the first day of our new term.
I was with Cody, my best guy friend for nine years - ever since
I was six. I was sitting on the very front row of the
bleachers, watching him casually kicking around a football in
the space of about two meters.
I heard my name being screamed, and before I had even looked to
see who was calling, I was almost knocked off the seat with
blonde locks covering my view. It was my best friend,
Abbie.
“Hey Abbie,” I smiled, hugging her back.
She sat down on the bleachers beside me, not noticing Cody...
we had only been sitting about thirty seconds, when a bell rang
from the distance - it was the start of school.
“Ugh...” Cody whined, kicking the football in the
air and catching it.
“Cody,” Abbie said startled.
“Na, its Jim...” Cody joked.
“Shut up,” Abbie rolled her eyes as we got up and
started heading into school.
We got inside through the door in the changing rooms and went
into the corridor. Abbie had geography and I had Spanish, so we
did a quick hug, mumbled goodbye and I started to walk away
when Cody called from behind.
“What? No hug?” He pouted.
I laughed, rolled my eyes and sighed as I threw my arms around
his chest. He hugged me tight and then I realised...
“Cody, don’t you have Spanish with me
next?”
“Um... Yea...?”
“Just love me that much,” I giggled.
“Shut up,” He said shyly.
“Are you saying that you don’t love me?” I
acted hurt.
“I didn’t say that. Of course I love you
Maci,” He lifted me up quickly and threw me over his
shoulder.
“Put me down!” I screamed through my laughter,
kicking and hitting his back with clenched fists,
playfully.
“Well you don’t wanna be late for class,” He
laughed, running down the hall with me.
“Put me down!” I squealed.
“Nope,” He said plainly.
He ran down the hall and we were laughing so hard we almost
missed the class room. “Mr Thomas,” Our teacher
grunted.
Cody set me down, still quietly laughing to ourselves.
“Sorry miss,” Cody said, pursing his lips, holding
in the laughter. Everyone in the class was now turned around in
their chairs, watching the door in which we were standing. We
walked in together and took our seats at the back, beside each
other.
Boring
first chapter, I know; but I'll get to the point of the
story in the next few :)
