I
Swear I Mean It This Time- Chapter Thirty-Five
"Josh?" I said, opening the door, and holding it with my
foot as I pulled my key out. I hung his jacket up in the closet in
the hall, I had just picked it up from the dry cleaner.
"I'm home!"
"Hey sweetie," Josh said, stopping me and the hall and
kissing me. "I missed you," he tucked my hair behind my
ear.
"I was only gone a few hours," I giggled. "And
don't do that, you'll mess up my hair."
"So sorry, you look amazing though," he leaned down to
kiss me again.
"Thank you," I smiled. "How was your day?" I
walked into the kitchen and put my purse down on the counter.
"It was good, just hung around here."
"And raided the fridge I see," I laughed, grabbing a
water bottle from the near empty shelf.
"Yeah, we'll have to go grocery shopping tomorrow. Then we
can pick up Drew?"
"Sounds like a good plan. I'll text Justin."
"And maybe we can all grab lunch..." I choked on my
water, spewing it everywhere. "Do you need a lesson on
swallowing?" He asked, laughing at me. He patted me on the
back a few times and then grabbed a dish towel to wipe up the
water.
"Sorry," I coughed, trying to clear my airway. "You
want to have lunch with my ex-husband?"
"Or maybe just coffee. I don't know, but I think we need
to sit down and talk about some stuff. The only time I've ever
talked to him was when he wanted you back."
"Yeah, sure, I'll uh..text him again. I'm gonna go get
ready..." I said, pointing my thumb towards the bathroom.
"Your jacket's in the closet."
"Thanks babe, you're the best." He walked out of the
room, and I took a deep breath and let it out. He wanted to meet
Justin? And have a civil- well I don't know how civil it will
be but- a conversation? I preferred the two of them far, far away
from each other. Like universes away. I guess that's not
happening now...
Just a quick chapter before I go off to bed, to set up for
the next chapter. It's easier to do it this way so I don't
have to cut out any details. You'll see what happens next
tomorrow :)
