After a little bit, he put both of his hands on my face and pulled it back so he could see me.
“Do you remember everything else?” he asked.
I tried to remember anything else, but nothing came.
“No,” I said, “that’s the only thing. I think the kiss is what…well, ‘triggered’ the memories of me and you.”
He seemed disappointed, but then he perked up.
“Well, at least I’ve got a little bit of my Brielle back.” Carter said happily.
“Yea,” I smiled, “and now we know that my memories are there- I just have to find out how to access them…if that makes sense?”
“Exactly.” He laughed.
“…But until then, I’d still like to know what I can’t remember.” I prompted him to continue with his story.
His smile widened.
 “You know, patience is a virtue, Bri.” He joked.
I rose my eyebrows.
“One that I don’t have.” I teased back.
He glanced at the clock on the blueish-greenish bathroom walls.
It read ten o’clock.
“Well this is a perfect opportunity to work on that.” He said with a half-smile on his face.
“And why is that?” I questioned while putting my forehead against his.
I was still sitting on his lap.
“I have to meet Andrew at the coffee shop at eleven, and it can take a while to get there.” Carter explained.
I could see he wasn’t looking forward to leaving- and I wasn’t exactly looking forward to being left alone with a lack of memory in a place I don’t know when some random people were out to get me for who knows what.
So I said, “What if I came with you?”
He looked doubtful.
“Oh come on, Carter! You can fill me in on the way there and when we get there I’ll stay quiet! You won’t even know I’m there! Please? I really don’t want to be left here all by myself.” I begged him.
He knitted his eyebrows together for a minute before answering.
“Finee.” Carter said in a fake ‘if-you-insist’ voice.
I smiled and pecked him on the nose before we both got up off of the floor and went to get ready.
