Why cheerleading is a
SPORT♥
You have to be strong. You
aren't just lifting weights. You're lifting
people.
It is dangerous. I the last year, I have gotten two
concussions, many sprained ankles and wrists, a fractured foot,
and a broken leg.
When you're stunting, if
you're a base, and you drop your flyer, she could
die. You have to
concentrate.
When you're stunting, if you're the flyer, you have to
make sure you are doing everything right. If you move just
slightly to the side while your in the air or if you don't
move right, you might be dropped, not only hurting you, but the
bases under you. Concentration.
We practice just as hard as anyone in any other sport. We
have practices. We don't just jump and kick. Those
jumps and kicks take time and effort to learn, just like learning
a play in basketball or football.
You have basketball games, we have competitions. We
don't just compete against one other team. We compete
against dozens. Your tournaments are like our final
competition.
We sweat. We get hurt. We work hard, just like in
every other sport.
