Chapter 3

I made a few more sales and I was pretty pleased with myself I even did some cleaning.  Annabelle interrupted me from vacuuming but I was just fine with that.  Annabelle asked, “How do you like your new job?”  I smiled a huge smile and I gave my best friend a hug .  I said “Thanks for making me do this I would’ve regretted it, if you hadn’t.”  Annabelle and I were talking and she asked “When was the last time you and Nick talked?” We Skype pretty much every day or almost every day  you see Nick was on vacation in England with his parents, visiting his family, because no one in his family lived here.  So they would go visit his family over there every other year.  I replied “Yesterday why?”  She looked down at the floor then said “No reason I was just curious.”  

Suddenly I heard gunshots…1…2…3…4…5 I bolted to the lights to switch them off and thankfully the owner left me an extra key on the desk so I ran to both doors to lock them.  I heard footsteps and Annabelle and I ran into a room that no one would know we were there,  and we heard pounding on the front door.  Then Annabelle and I were scared for our lives, we heard gunshots go through glass, but it sounded as if they bounced off.  I heard the person step away he tried to shoot the glass again but nothing happened,  it must be bulletproof !  I whispered “Annabelle were saved!”  We stared at each other in amazement.  I guess this had happened to the owner once before.  I snuck out of the room and caught a glimpse of the man who was trying to get in he was in a black jacket, neon blue shirt, black jeans, and neon blue shoes.  He was turning around and I bolted back into the room he never saw me but I texted the owner to call the police.  She called the police and texted me they will be there in 5 minutes.  Annabelle and I could hold out until then….we heard the police sirens, and I ran and turned the lights on.

The owner was here shortly after the police arrived, I ran over to unlock the door for her.  She asked “What happened?” I took a deep breath and said “Annabelle and I were just talking and I heard gunshots, I turned off all the lights, locked the doors, and Annabelle and I went to go hide in the back room.  Suddenly I heard footsteps and an armed gunman was trying to get into the shop.”
