- C H A P T E R S I X - part 1
They happen to the best of us.Perhaps they happen
in a series of events, one after the other. Sometimes our own
mistakes are caused by other people - their mistake triggers
something in our brain that in turn makes us want to do it
too. However, mistakes can sometimes turn out to be better
than we first anticipated they would. They can turn into
opportunities and lead to events which are more positive than
negative. Or, they can turn out as the things that can
completely ruin our lives.
When we arrived, fashionably late of course, the party was
already in full swing. The door was open so Serena, Rosalie
and I figured it was okay to just walk right in. Rose
immediately spotted her boyfriend in the flood of people and
hugged us both goodbye, while Serena rolled her eyes.
"So… where's Jay?" Serena winked.
"Umm… somewhere here I hope!" I laughed
nervously. A part of me didn't really want to see him, in
whatever he would be wearing that would be so perfect I could
never compare to his beauty. That part of me lucked out when
I saw him walking down the stairs with a drink in his hand,
greeting anyone and everyone he walked past.
"Don't blush too much Kaela!" Serena giggled
and nudged me in the ribs. "But there's the love of
I glared at her, "Shut uuuuup!"
"Okay, and I promise that I'll leave the moment he
walks over here," she giggled again.
I looked up from her to see that I had lost Jay in the crowd.
Where could he have gone in such a small amount of time?
Suddenly I felt arms around my waist and a hot breath on my
"Boo," a voice whispered, before releasing me. I
turned around to find myself looking straight into the dark
brown eyes that did in fact belong to Jay.
"H-hi!" I managed to gasp out.
I could barely hear what Serena had said, but I knew that it
meant I was now relatively alone with this beautiful boy.
He raised one eyebrow and took a step back, looking me up and
"You look good tonight Kaela, I'm so glad you could
make it," he smiled a breath-taking smile. Before I
could answer however, he had spotted someone over my
shoulder, muttered something about 'see you later'
and disappeared just as quickly as he had appeared. This of
course left me standing by myself, with possibly a very
unattractive look on my face, trying to catch my bearings on
what had just happened.
I finally remembered where I was and turned on my heel to
take in my surroundings. There were people around who were
definitely NOT sober - which meant somewhere around here
there were drinks.
