Second Chance // Chapter 25 Rose's P.O.V. My eyes fluttered

Chapter 25

Rose's P.O.V.
My eyes fluttered open, as I realized that I was still in the car. It was silent. I noticed Melissa's head was down. I could hear her mumbling, but it was very slurred. She must be in a middle of a dream.
"Melissa." Brett said quietly. Brett placed his hand on her cheek. What is he doing?
"Sometimes you drive me crazy." Brett said. Then, the most amazing thing happened. Brett leaned down and placed a small kiss on her lips. After that, Brett got back to his normal position and looked at the road again.
My eyes shot open. It took all of my power to not scream of happiness. So Brett does like Melissa! I have to tell somebody! But wait, no one is going to believe me. I'm just a little girl. I guess the only thing I can do is wait until Brett makes a move...
Melissa's P.O.V.
We're finally at Las Vegas. I took some pictures while Brett was driving. I gave him directions to my dad's house. We passed by many hotels.
"Oh my god, I know this place! I saw this place on TV! We're in Las Vegas!" Lily screamed.
"Wait, that means.... DADDY!" Rose screamed.
"Yup, you can finally give dad your drawings." I told her.
"Thank you Melissa!" Rose said.
"You shouldn't be thanking me, thank Brett." 
"Thank you Brett! You're awesome!" Rose screamed.
Brett chuckled. "Your welcome. Try to not explode. You'll be able to see your father in just a moment."
As we made it down the block, I start to get nervous. Should I have called him? Maybe he's doing something important...
Brett finally parked his car in front of dad's house. This is it. Time to see dad again.
We got out of Brett's car, and walked in front of dad's door. I was hesitant to press the doorbell. I wanted to run away. I finally pressed the doorbell. I was so nervous, that I ran away for the door.
"Hell no Melissa, you're not ditching now." Brett chased me. He was much faster than me, so he catched up to me and threw me over his shoulder.
"Put me down!" I shouted.
"No Melissa, I just drove here for 9 hours. We are seeing your father, whether you like it or not!" Brett demanded. Brett walked back to the door, still carrying me.
The door opened, revealing a woman. Why is there a woman by the door?
Brett finally put me down.
"Hi, who are you kids?" the woman asked.
"We're here to see our daddy!" Rose responded.
Dad finally come up to the door.
"Rose? Melissa?" my dad said, confused.
"Daddy!" Rose screamed as she ran to dad and gave him a big hug. I was too busy staring at the woman.
"Melissa? Aren't you going to hug your dad?" Lily asked.
"OH, oh! Dad!" I shouted, walking to him and giving him a hug.
"What are you girls doing here? And who are they?" my dad asked referring to Brett and Lily.
"Brett brought us here. And Lily here, is my BFF!" Rose answered.
"Wow Brett, it's very.... nice for you to bring Melissa and Rose here." my dad said, eyeing Brett.
"Hey, what are neighbors for?" Brett said.
I continued staring at the woman that was next to my dad. She looks.. kinda familiar. I'm sure I never seen this woman before but there's something about her. Something wrong.
"Oh Melissa, this is Suzan. She was just leaving." my dad said.
"Yeah, I was going to go. Bye." Suzan said.
"We'll deal with it later." my dad said in a low voice. Suzan nodded and walked to her car and drove away, leaving me confused.
"You kids can come in." my dad told us. We walked into his house. The house was pretty nice, and big for one person.
"Dad, who is she?" I asked.
"No one."
"Dad."
"Just forget about her. Okay?" my dad suggested.
"Fine." But I couldn't forget about it.
