Speechless
Epilogue Part 3: Darcy's
P.O.V.
My hand was covering
my mouth and I was biting back the biggest smile in the world. I
nodded vigorously as I laughed shortly. “Yes!” My
smile broke through and a few tears slid down my cheeks
involuntarily. I didn’t even have to think about the
decision.
I threw my arms around his neck and sobbed lightly as I hugged
him tightly. He kissed my temple and pulled back. Taking my left
hand and sliding the ring on it as I wiped my tears with my
right.
“I love you so much.” I said, kissing him.
“I can’t wait until you’re mine forever.”
He whispered and I blushed, his hands cupping my face, wiping
away tears, and his forehead against mine. It started pouring,
out of nowhere, but we were covered by the gazebo.
“I love the rain!” I looked at him and wiggled my
eyebrows.
“Darcy, no, these are really expensive shoes, and I mean
c’mon, do you really want your hair to get wet?
You’re the only girl I know who likes the rain!” He
protested.
“Oh, n-n-n-n-no! You’re not getting out of this
one!” I pulled him out into the rain before he could stop
me. I pulled off my heels and ran in the grass. I twirled and
danced, and Matt eventually gave in and joined me. He threw me
over his shoulder and spun around as I laughed. He then put me
down and took me into his arms, slow dancing with me.
“See, you love the rain.” I giggled at him.
“No, I love you. And you’re in the rain. And
you happen to be very convincing.” He said and I
winked at him. He twirled me and dipped me, pulling me back up
slowly as I closed my eyes and let the rain cleanse my skin.
“Well, I love you more.” I said and stuck my tongue
out at him.
“No, I love you more.”
“No, not true. I love you way more than you love me.”
I said, trying not to smile.
“Is that so?”
“Yes. It’s a known fact.”
“Yeah, I’m sure it is.” He laughed and kissed
me before I could say anymore to defend my point. He tightened
his grip on my waist and I tangled my fingers in his hair as he
leaned over me, our bodies pressed against one another as our
lips moved together in sync. I smiled into it and pulled back to
hug him, pressing my head against his chest and listening to his
heartbeat. His cologne was mixed with the scent of fresh rain and
he hugged me back, moving hair off of my face and kissing my
hairline.
