An Unforgettable Summer Chapter 2

I went to my room and started unpacking. After a couple hours I checked my phone. I looked at all the pictures I had. One picture stood out from all the others. It was the picture of me and Eli kissing. *Delete.* Why did I still have this stupid picture anyway? I was trying to get over him, and I didn’t need any pictures of him. I sighed and jumped in my bed. It was cold, but still comfortable. I needed that, since it was too hot outside. I grabbed my iPod and my headphones. I blasted the music and it felt really good. After the first song was over, I listened to Call your Girlfriend by Robyn. Then you tell her that the only way her heart will mend is when she learns to love again. Those lyrics were stuck in my head. They were right. The only way I would get over him is when I start to love someone else. After a couple minutes, I dozed off.

“Lennon?” Fiona said. She shook me until I woke up. “Yeah? What’s up?” I said. “Get up! It’s only the first day and you already slept for three hours. Come on, time for dinner,” She said. I went downstairs and ate dinner. Fiona and David asked me about my friends, school, blah, blah, blah.

That night, I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t stop thinking about Eli. Tears streamed down face. Why was I crying? Why did I miss him anyway? He was a jerk! I had love-hate feelings for him. I hope there were cute guys in California so I could finally get over Eli. The next day I woke up and went to the beach with Jonas, David, and Fiona, but it wasn’t our beach, which I didn’t understand at all since we lived in a beach house.

I saw a bunch of teenage girls looking at me and whispering something to each other. They were obviously talking about me. I got angry. “Jonas, I’m going to go walk around for a bit,” I told him.

I walked around the beach and started thinking about Eli again. I couldn’t get him out of my mind. He was hypnotizing me. I couldn’t stop thinking about him. I had no control over my thoughts. I kept thinking and walking. I was lost in my thoughts.

Jared’s POV

I had just got on the beach and started talking to my friends. We decided to play Frisbee. I had to get the Frisbee and succeeded. I got my lemonade and started sipping to cure my thirst. I was about to put my lemonade back, but someone bumped into me, and I dropped my lemonade on them.

Lennon’s POV

Being my stupid self, I bumped into a shirtless boy and he dropped his drink on me. I think it was lemonade. Thanks to stupid me, I had lemonade on my new tank top.

Jared’s POV

“I’m so sorry!” I said. “No, it’s my fault. I’m sorry I was thinking about something and it was, well, a distraction,” She said. I looked in her beautiful green eyes. She was stunning.

Lennon’s POV

He had beautiful black hair and amazing light brown eyes. He took my breath away. “So you want to play Frisbee?” He asked. There went my stupid response. “No thanks, I’m not really sporty,” I said. It was true though. I hadn’t done any sports in my entire life. I was more into music. I could play drums, guitar, piano, harmonica, and a saxophone. I could sing as well. “Oh, that’s okay, maybe we can walk around and get to know each other,” He said. “Sure,” I said. “Come on, I’ll show you a special part of the beach,” He told me. We went to a pretty part of the beach. It was absolutely gorgeous. “Oh and I forgot to tell you, my name is Jared,” He said. “Lennon,” I said. “Oh here,” Jared said while handing me his big white shirt. “Why?” I asked. “Well a beautiful girl like you shouldn’t be wearing something that has lemonade on it,” He said. I blushed a deep red. We spent the whole day together telling each other about ourselves. He even gave me his number. He was amazing.

“Lennon! Come on we got to go home!” Fiona yelled. “Wait! Before you go, I have to ask you something,” Jared said. “What is it?” I asked him. “Will you be my girlfriend?” He asked. I smiled like an idiot. “Yes,” I said. When I went to my room, I couldn’t stop thinking about him. I think I finally got over Eli.
