 The next day at school first period English, Aniya wasn't there. That meant, Kya would be following me around all day and be glued to me. Kya has liked me for a while, she is like a sister me but she sees more than that even though she knows I'm in love with Aniya. All of my friends don't get it, they just keep bugging me about someone they've never met themselves.. Or maybe they aren't true friends.. Samantha, Kevin's girlfriend and Kya's best friend understands a little but when she is around our friends she makes fun of me just as much as the rest of my friends. Later on that day, Aniya shows up at lunch. She sits by herself at the table by the door. I felt bad and my friends were annoying me so I got up and walked over to Aniya. Everyone had their eyes on me in disgust. Before I even sat down with Aniya, she looks up and signs, "If you're sitting here to make fun of me or use me to humiliate me, just leave. I don't want to make you look like a loser like me or get caught up in my life." When she finishes, she tears up and looks back down. I grab the chair right next to her and sit down, thought over what she said. What about her life does she not want me to get caught up in? So, I look deep in her eyes and sign "I'm not. I want to know you, Aniya. I don't care what I look like or become." She smiled and that was the very first time I have ever seen her smile-lemme tell ya, it was beautiful and I think it made me fall even more for the girl I barely knew, but I'm on a mission to get to know Aniya Peterson.
