"What?"
“I,” Marco started.
“Have been cheating on you,” he continued
slowly.
“How long?”
“A year.” I
gulped.
“Who is
she?”
“He. I'm
gay.”
I gasped, I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe who
he had been cheating on me with with. Maybe I should've
expected it.“Marco, when we started dating, did you know
you were gay?”
I prayed he'd say no but he didn't.
“Yes.”
“M-”
“I'm sorry Avalaya. I
thought by dating you that I'd turn straight. If I was
straight I'd be head over heels for you but I'm not. I
love the guy I've been cheating on you with but my parents
would never approve so...”
I laughed, yes laughed. This situation was so screwed up.
“Friends?”
“Friends, you're not
mad?”
“I cheated on you,
didn't I? I'd be a bit hypocritical if I did hate
you.” Marco hugged me.
“You're the best,
Avalaya.”
“Hey Marco? Can you get
Emilee for me?” I asked.
“Sure.”
Emilee entered the room a few moments after Marco left.
“So what happened?” she asked.
“We're not together for
one,” I started. Emilee squealed. “He was cheating
on me with a guy... he's gay, can you believe
that?”
“No! Oh my! You poor baby,
are you alright?”
“I'm fine... is it bad
that I don't care?”
“Not at all. Good on you,
babe. Now, you have to tell Carson! You guys are perfect for
each other,” she giggled.
“He hates me... Not only was
I pregnant and killed the baby,” my voice broke.
“But I said some horrible things to
him.”
“Avalaya, don't you dare
think that you killed your baby! Never think
that.”
“But I did,” I said
weakly.
“No you didn't. If I
hear you say that one more time, I swear I'll strangle you.
Carson doesn't hate you, Ava, that boy is head over heels
in love with you.”
“No he
isn't.”
“Yes, don't deny it. You
know, he came here when you got into the accident. He was the
first one here, when I came I saw Carson screaming at the
nurses because he wanted to know what happened to you. Then the
doctor told everybody that you had a miscarriage. That's
when Marco found out you had slept with Carson. Carson was so
devastated and he fell to the ground and cried. You know how
heart breaking it is to see a grown man cry?”
“He hasn't came to see
me so I assumed-”
“Ava, he's been
sitting outside since the day of the accident, he hasn't
been home since. He thinks you hate him,” Emilee
said.
