despite what everyone else said: I agree.
some people get food on their white shirt and go: this is the worst day ever.

so, @AlNicholas: you're right, people do throw the phrase around casually. And food on a shirt is NOT and will NEVER be the same as losing someone or feeling unbearable pain.

I ofcourse don't mean it like that, what I mean is people throw around the phrase when they like get homework or something

I just thought this fit.

this is like me telling someone that i'm happy and them telling me that i can't be because there are happier people in the world.

Although I do think that that is horrible, telling someone that their day could have been worse won't help anything. It will only make the person feel bad for being upset about their day.

I do think that that's horrible about her father though, and I'm not trying to make his death any less of a problem.

Saying that someone's day could have been worse is like telling someone who doesn't want to eat that there are people starving in china or africa or whatever.

It isn't gonna make the person want to eat, only feel bad.

I'm sorry for her loss tho :'c
