Chapter Two
“Wh-what?” I stuttered
“I’m sorry honey but we will be getting so much more money and I don’t have to work as much”I sighed knowing there was no way around this.
“When are we leaving?”
“In 3 days”
“3…. DAYS?!” I yelled
“Yes Jasmine. 3 days. I would tell Louis and Izzy tomorrow. It will be your last full day with them because we still need to pack the house.” I could only nod and picked at my dinner. I didn’t want to leave. All my friends were in Doncaster. I have spent the last 12 years of my life here and now I have to leave. I got up and went straight up to my room. I just laid there for hours before I fell asleep. I woke up at 9:30 the next morning and decided I had to tell Louis. I knew he had already been up for a few hour so I called his house and he answered first ring.
“Hello?!” He said once again full of energy
“God Tommo it’s 9:30 and you are already hyper” I laughed
“Good point. It’s 9:30 why are you up?”
“Exactly why I called. Meet in our spot as fast as you can”
“Give me 5 minutes and I will be there” He said hanging up. I stood up and put on a pair of sneakers, not caring I was still in my pajamas and left for the trail between Louis and my houses. In the middle of the woods there was a small clearing with trees the fell and formed benches and a small stream flowed through. I sat on my favorite fallen tree and waited for Louis.
“Sorry Jamjazz my mom needed me to do something before I left” I am going to miss the weird nicknames Louis came up with for me.
“It’s fine. Don’t worry about it”
“So, your awake, out of bed and in the woods before 10. What happened?” He knew me too well.
“Um Tommo, I’m moving.. To California… Which is in America…”
“When?.” He asked, his eyes filling up with tears
“Two days from today..”
“TWO DAYS?! THAT’S IT?”
“I have no control over it Lou. My mom got a promotion and they are sending her there.” Louis ran up and hugged me.
“Please, please stay”
“I’m sorry Louis. I can’t.” I said and the tears streamed down my face.
“I know”
“I have to go talk to Iz.” I walked away and went to Izzy’s house. I knocked on the door and her older brother, Johnny answered the door.
“Ew it’s Jazzy”
“Shut up Johnny. Where is Izzy?”
“Room” He said opening the door and walking away. I ran up the stairs and into Izzy’s bedroom.
“Jazz?”
“Hey Izz. Um I really need to talk to you.”
“About?”
“I’m moving”
“Where?”
“America”
“When”
“Two days”
“Let’s grab Louis and spend our last time together?”
“Agree” I said. That’s what I love about telling Izzy things. She knows there’s nothing either of us can do about it and so she just goes with it. Izzy said bye to her parents and Johnny stopped us before we walked out the door.
“Bells tell LouLou not to sit in our front yard and do whatever it is he does.. People stare” Izzy rolled her eyes, slapped her brother in the arm for calling her Bells and we walked outside where Louis was sitting in the front yard.
“You guys better be coming over” Louis said standing up and Izzy and I followed him to his house. We spent every second over the next two days that we possibly could together. If I wasn’t packing I was over one of their houses. Moving day came far too quickly. I had already said my goodbyes to Izzy and the rest of the Turners and Louis and Mommy Tommo took my mom and I to the airport.
Flight 182 to Los Angeles California is now boarding
I looked at my mom and her nod told me all I needed to know. I walked up to Louis with the tears spilling out from my eyes and ended up running to hug him. We were both crying at this point. I can’t believe I was about to leave my best friends.
“Bye Louis. I love you more than anything. You are the best friend, no, brother that anyone could ever ask for.”
“I love you too Jasmine. I hope when Lottie gets bigger she is as amazing as a sister as you have been to me for the past 12 years” Lottie was his two year old sister.
“Jazzy, honey we have to go” My mom said and I gave Louis one last hug before hugging Mommy Tommo.
“Bye Honey. I love you” She said
“I love you too Mommy Tommo” I gave them one last look before walking onto the plane. I can’t believe I was going to America.
