When I was in high school, I was the girl who made fun of people just to entertain myself and my friends.

When I was a senior, there was a freshman girl I made fun of behind her back.

For all I know, she could have been the nicest girl.

I'll never know because she got cancer and died.

She was only 16.

I've never been more sorry in my life.
