Fake Smiles.

Chapter 1

I lie on the beach chair watching the stars at night, softly crying.
It's the middle of September, nothing to hear but the crashing of the waves.
My Mom and I got into a fight..  AGAIN. Ever since my Dad left, things have been bad.
I live in Los Angeles, Caifornia. My Dad moved to Miami, Florida. He left 2 years ago.
When I was 15. I've always been the popular girl in high school. Long blonde hair, blue-green eyes, tan, and fairly thin. No on knew my secrets. I mean, of course I had friends.. but they never knew the real me. Who I was when I went to sleep at night. I don't like people knowing things about me. I feel like they hold me hostage at all times. I never cry in front of people. To me it shows weakness, and I can't let anyone see me that way. I had been cutting ever since my Dad left. I always made sure I made the scars fade before summer. So no one would know my secret I'd been carrying for so long. If anyone knew, they'd think I was crazy.
I lie here, thinking what I could've done wrong. I didn't have a boyfriend. Ever since my ex-boyfriend,Kyle, cheated on me with some ugly sl/t bag, I'd been keeping my guard up. Letting no one in, and just having some friends with benefits.
"Hey there!" a guy yells from a couple of feet away.
I quickly fix myself and stop crying.
"Uhm. Hi." I say, not sure of who he was.
"What are you doing out here so late?"
"Oh, you know. Chilling. Why are you out here?" I question.
He had a remarkably amazing body. It was dark, but the glow of the sun shined on his brown eyes and dirty blonde flippy hair.
"Why not?" he says with a smirk on his face.
"Who are you?" I ask in a rude voice.
"Oh. I'm Bentley. Who are you?"
"I'm Anna. Are you from around here?"
"No, actually. My family just moved from New York. "
"Oh. How old are you?" I ask, secretly hoping he's the same age as me.
"I'm 17." he says.
"Oh, are you going to be going to be going to Jefferson High School?"
"Uhm, yeah. Do you go there?"
"Yeah, I do." I say with a soft smile.
"Good. As long as you'll be there, I won't have a problem with school." he says and then winks.
I blush and smile, while twirling my hair.
"You wanna walk with me?" He asks cautiously.
"Why not?" I say as I wink.
