One Girl, Five Guys
» Chapter fifteen «
Last time: Mason is at the door about to open it
to Mason
Outside the door, Mason stood. I hadn’t looked at him
properly last night, but however good looking I’d thought
him then, he was ten times better now. His hair was a brown-blond
and was – perhaps gelled – out at all directions, but
it didn’t look messy – more cute. His smile sat
subtly on his face, with ghosts of dimples imprinted into his
skin.
He was wearing a plain white T-shirt that just peeked out over
his red jacket that’s black zip had been done up ¾
of the way. Further down his body was a pair of jeans and then
lower was black converse.
“Sorry for taking go long to open the door, I had to check
I looked okay.”
“You look amazing,” He muttered.
“You don’t look to bad yourself,” I smiled
shortly.
“Do you wanna come in for a few minutes?” Nick
asked.
“Why? So you can interrogate him?” I turned
slightly.
“Yep,” Nick admitted instantly.
“The movie’s booked for half eight though,”
Mason explained.
“Movie? What do you think boys?” Nick turned around
to Jonah, Cody, Owen and Dylan. “I’d rate it about a
six? But that’s quite good saying no one’s gotten
higher than an eight from me,” Nick reassured Mason.
Mumbles of numbers were thrown around, Jonah’s, obviously,
being lowest.
“Oh Jonah, come on, three? Three is for art galleries. But
then again... You and Ash...”
“Shut it,” Jonah snapped.
“Don’t go all defensive,” Nick laughed lightly.
“But anyway, Jason-”
“Mason,” I corrected.
“I don’t care,” Nick said, offhandedly.
“It takes about ten minutes to get to the movie house and
you’re Mr On-Time and it’s only slightly after eight
now, so you have at least fifteen minutes before you leave
– and there’s at least five minutes of advertisements
at the start... so twenty minutes.”
“Your maths skills are amazing,” I complimented
sarcastically.
“I do try,” Nick smirked.
“I guess I could stay for a little while,” Mason
said, not very enthusiastically.
“You don’t have to, Mason, Nick’s just being an
idiot.”
“No, it’s fine,” He took a step inside,
“I’ll stay.”
So I led him to the living room and stood in front of the TV with
him and recited the names of Cody, Dylan and Owen while gesturing
to them before coming to Nick and saying, “This is Nick the
immature flirty douche bag,” Then smiled shortly at
him.
“Aw thanks Ash,” He smiled as if it was a flattering
remark.
I rolled my eyes then came to the last person who’d slipped
to my mind for a moment. “And this is um...
Jonah.”
Jonah raised his eye brows in recognition.
“I’m staying in here while you talk to him,” I
said to all of them, but looked at Nick personally.
“Don’t worry we won’t scare off your precious
boyfriend,” Nick gave his classic devilish smirk.
Jonah’s knuckles whitened as he clenched his fist at
Nick’s remark.
“Mason you can sit over here with me-” My phone
started to buzz in my pocket and Nick gave me a fake apologetic
smile.
“Gotta take that,” He shrugged.
“Sorry Mason,” I gave him a regretful smile.
“I’m just down that hall if they’re too much of
a hassle. Don’t let them give you too much crap.” I
took out my phone, gave Nick a frustrated glare and strolled down
the hall and into my room before picking up the call.
So? How do you think the date will go? Where will Mason
take her?
