I don't believe in God, but I am interested in others opinions,
I don't believe in God, but I am interested in others opinions,
and I combine them to make my own.
So if you believe in God, why?
No hate on mine or anyone else's opinions.
Whenever my life seems to be falling apart all I have to do is pray to God and it helps me feel better and see the bright side. Also whenever I need to vent I can pray. It's nice to believe in something, to have faith. And if I'm wrong and there is no God then there's no harm done I've still lived a good life full of helping and loving others. It's better to be safe than sorry.
I believe in God, It's because everything HAS a creator, look around :P Scientists say the big bang was created by one atom, so who created that atom? Religion answers my questions, It fills in those little gaps and questions i have in mind, i believe we're all here for a purpose, everything around us was created for a purpose.. trees, for oxygen, the sun, for light and so we all dont freeze to death, and it all couldnt have just appeared, well that's just my opinion.. what's yours? :)
I understand what you mean. I don't believe in God because if he's the creator of everything, then why doesn't he bother to save them? The ones that die everyday by suicide, starvation, lack of water, ect. Why is he ignoring some prayers that should be listened to, but listening to others? My dad said and proved how the bible doesn't make sense, although I'm still needing to read it. Sorry if this offended you or made you angry, I don't want to start an argument. :)
Oh no, I'm not angry, it's your opinion and I respect that, I was just curious because I've never really asked anyone why they don't believe in God, and my opinion on that is, it all happens for a reason, I completely get you :)
Everything seems to perfect for there not to be a higher power. How everything works in such sync. We have the grass that bunnys eat, the fox that eats the bunny, etc. It just all works to perfectly. Our languages, words... How our galaxy is just perfect. Why oxygen? Why do trees put out this "oxygen"? And where would we all have came from? if it was so... "simple" (not really simple, i just cant think of another word) why isn't there other life forms? It just seems as though we can evolve to work with this planet, why isn't there others that can evolve from, lets say, mars? They only look for planets with water cause they can only support life. Well why? Why is that a law? I think we spend to much time trying to look for reasons or answers and it's enough. We will probably never know, the world itself is to perfect for just a freak accident.
I believe that you don't have to go to church or ccd to believe in god. He's just there. God to me is like someone who will always be therefor you. Now of course I believe in science theorys but I believe Heaven is there to take everyone. You don't have to believe and you don't have to follow the rules but I believe when you die there's another place better for you to go. When people ask how do you believe you've never seen him? Seeing isn't believing. I've never seen a million dollars but I believe that its real right?
I believe. Think of all the miracles. Those just don't happen. And even the bad stuff. It unites people. I think that is God's way of telling us he's there. Even just a beautiful day, when everything goes perfectly. I think God's up there saying, ya know what? That person deserves a break.
It's like this: A painting, must have a painter, therefore we must have a creator. God is our creator. He loves you and sent Jesus to die on the cross to save you from your sins, and if you choose to accept him and follow his commandments, you can go to heaven and help lead others to Christ. It sounds confusing, and I'm not the best with words, so any more questions I'll be glad to answer... because there are probably questions.
I believe in God because I'ma christian and I believe all the stroies of the bible.A personel story was when I was praying for a friend,I'm not sure if she's a christian or if she believs.but my prayers worked.
I would believe in God if nobody would force me to be a Catholic. I don't have a free will, nobody let me to pick in whom I want to believe. They shove me religion I don't really like. Last year I had "Ethics" lesson in school, now I have to go to "Religion Instruction" because the most of my classmates go there.
Couple weeks ago, the priest were visiting people's houses. He visited my house either. He was talking a lot of bullshit etc. I couldn't wait until he go away. I thought he will stay here forever. And he did leave :)
My faith is somewhere else, not in Christianity. I'm planning to convert to another religion, that's only way to run away from all those religion obsessed freaks (the ones who shove religion to our arses and don't care about something called "Free will"). That's only my opinion :) I will let my children to pick religion they want, because I know how does it feel to be forced to believe in something.
My parents aren't very religious though they want me to be Catholic. Um... ok
Ah, I see. My parents aren't very religious either, my mum's Catholic but she doesn't go to church, along with my brother who's Christian and my dad's Protestant. Thankbyou for sharing, it helps :)
I have no idea. I mean, I completely understand where atheists are coming from, you cannot argue with the facts of evolution. On the other hand, I want to believe in something. I WAS christened, that makes me a Protestant. And I don't think it's right that people don't really give a f/ck about god or whatever untill someone dies. Then apparently they die and go to heaven. So I do believe in god for that reason, I suppose.
I know, it is an awesome pic. Maybe I should scrap the whole "religion" thing and just worship Dan and Phil. Oh wait, that breaks one of the Ten Commandments. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT ANY MORE.
My friend doesn't believe in God either. She believes in Jesus though. I asked how she believe in one and not the other and she told me. "There is proof Jesus was a real person, there is no proof the God is a real." I thought what she said was smart. Most people just say they don't because they don't. I respect your opinion because everyone has a right to one.
I'm ecstatic that I stumbled upon this. I have the same mindset, and just kind of making my own religion as I go. But whenever I tell my friends this kinda stuff, they all stare at me like I'm insane. But I don't ever try to be mean about not fully believing. The one thing that really irritates me though, is when really really religious people try to shove their beliefs down my thought. Like, I love it when people explain why the believe what they do, but if they try to make me believe it, that's where I draw the line. *phew* that took forever to type :p (ps. i really have no idea what to consider myself. because I'm not really atheist, but I don't know if I'm agnostic. What do you consider yourself?)
God is the reason that we're here. I have a couple of reasons why God is real. First of all, if you haven't heard of near-death experiences before, you should look them up! They're very interesting and people constantly say that they go towards a light or that they see Jesus, or Mary. Also, a personal story of mine is that last year, there was a huge house fire at our next door neighbor's house. We were out of town when it happened, so we were notified by a call. Since we weren't at our house, we couldn't get our pets out or other belongings. The fire was spreading and it was at our gate the second time they called. Me and my family prayed and prayed and we called other people to pray for us for the entire day. I've never prayed harder in my life. When we came back, we checked the damage at our house, and the fire went right into our yard, but stopped before it touched our house. Our yard was burnt all around, but our house was untouched. All of our neighbor's houses were burnt down. We were the only house standing. Coincidence? I think not. :)
I don't see how we could've got here otherwise - this whole world couldn't of got here on it's own and I've been brought up to believe in him as well. I don't see how a world so beautiful (okay, lately it's not exactly great but still... Focus on the positives (for me that's nature) and less on the negatives), could of been created all on its own xoxox <3
I understand why you wouldn't believe. My friend doesn't believe because she says "if There's a great powerful person watching over everyone then why Is there so many bad things in the world?" And that makes sense to me. But once you study the bible or go to church or listen to amazing miracles caused by praying you might start to have a buying hope. & that's a big part of a religion. Having faith in god and believing that he is always there with you. I've been going to church since I was about 5 & I even had that one year around when I was 10 where I questioned if he was there or if I was just believing everything my mom and pastor told me because I was young. But now I'm positive. & it's actually weird when you start to believe. You here a small voice in your head telling you to do things and its like you feel like a better person because you have someone guiding you and helping you through life. Religion is a complicated thing and god himself is a complex topic but if you try to believe in him you could be surprised.
