the start of our
lives
Chapter 41
Today I went to the airport with Olivia to say bye to Christian.
After Christian and his mom got on the plane Olivia, her dad and I
went out to lunch. We went to Panera bread and sat down at a table
in the back.
“Ok girls, I’m going to go get a few things I need but
I’ll be back in two hours. You can walk around the mall.
Here’s some money.” Olivia’s dad said.
“Thanks dad!” Olivia said giving him a kiss
goodbye.
“Thank you Mr. Holt.” I said.
“You’re welcome girls. And Julia, call me Harry.”
Harry said, and left.
“So are you and Jon, a couple now?” I asked, not being
able to hold it in anymore.
“Yeah, I think so.” Olivia said with a smile on her
face.
“That’s good! I’m happy for you guys.”
“Thanks! It just feels good to be with someone with a
different past, you know?”
“Yeah I know exactly how you feel.” I looked down at my
phone, hoping Madison had answered one of my million texts, but he
didn’t.
“So I’m guessing you and Christian didn’t exactly
hit it off last night.” Olivia continued.
“Not exactly. It’s just not the right time. I really
just need a friend right now.”
“Yeah. Do you think it will ever be the right time with
him?”
“I hope.”
After lunch Olivia’s father dropped us both off at my house.
Olivia and Jon went to Jon’s room and I was left alone, like
always. I went up to my room and walked over to my bed. There was a
neatly folded note in my bed that had “Julia” printed
on the front. I picked it up and opened it up to read it.
Dear Julia,
Christian stopped by my house this morning and told me the whole
story. I’m sorry I didn’t believe you. I want to make
it up to you so go put something nice on and meet me outside at
4:30. I will write I love you, but I think it means more in person.
Well anyway, I will always love you beautiful.
Love Madison.
I did what the note said. I went into my closet and picked out a
cute, tight dress. After I got all ready I grabbed what I figured I
would need and headed down stairs.
“Well don’t you look nice!” my mom said from the
kitchen as I reached the bottom of the stairs.
“Thanks mom.” I said.
“And where might you be going on this fine
evening?”
“Madison is bringing me on a surprise date.” I said and
couldn’t help but smile.
“Well isn’t that nice! Don’t stay out too late
ok, but have fun!”
“Ok, thanks mom. But can I ask you something?”
“Yeah go ahead honey.”
“Why are you so happy?”
My mom looked up at me, confused. “What do you mean?
I’m always happy!” She argued.
“Ok mom.” I looked down at my phone and it said 4:30.
“I’m leaving mom. See you later.” I said giving
her a kiss.
“Ok, bye honey. Have fun; I love you.”
“Love you too!”
I walked outside and stood on the small strip of grass that stood
between my yard and Madison’s. I took out my phone and
started scrolling down my twitter timeline.
“Oh my god, you look flawless!” Madison said walking up
to me.
“Well isn’t it nice of you to show up.” I said,
joking with him. He walked up to me and put his arm around my lower
back, pulled me close to him and kissed me. We walked over to his
car and then started driving to our mystery location. I was really
excited because usually when Madison does something like this,
it’s to somewhere good. After a long drive filled with
pointless conversations, we finally arrived. We pulled into a small
almost empty parking lot. The only thing that was around was an old
dock and an expensive restaurant about 3 miles from here. Madison
came around and helped me out of the car, even though I was
completely capable myself.
“Don’t take this the wrong way but, where are
we?” I tried to ask as nicely as I could.
“You’ll see.” He said and started to guide me
over to the dock. As we stepped onto it I realized there was a boat
pulling in near it. The boat was fairly big. It looked big enough
to fit at least 200 people and it definitely had a dining area and
a dance floor. It kept sailing closer to the dock and finally it
stop right in front of it.
“Are we going on there?” I asked
“Yes, we are.” Madison answered. “After
you.” He said when we reached the boat. We walked in and it
was beautiful. There was a huge chandelier when we first walked in,
and then I was suddenly really excited to see the rest of the
boat.
