I was suspended today. I dip-dyed eight inches of my hair pink

This is just awful. I don't even know how to respond to this.....There was a girl at my school who dyed all of her hair neon pink, and as far as I know, didn't get in trouble. Then again, I go to a public school, so the rules are probably different. It's still crazy, though. I feel like I should shave or dye my hair just to prove a point or something... :L

I literally change my hair color every week, an pink isn't even a "distracting" color, unless you're me and your entire head is highlighter blue, it shouldn't be a problem. You probably go to a private school?

Yeah, my friend got the side of her shaved, like 4cm for Shave or Dye Cancer, and she got suspended. And she even brought in a note so they all new she was doing it :L

That is horrible. If I were you I'd go to school and tell them exactly why you did this and what the cause is. If the still don't understand then they're being unbelievably mean and hateful and rude. And dyeing your hair just for fun wouldn't be a disgrace, so dyeing it for a great cause is definitely not a disgrace to anything, its actually something that your school should be proud of you for. Maybe your schools image of young women is a disgrace??? it sure seems like it. To think that somebody dyeing their hair is disgraceful? Its more disgraceful to judge somebody for that. And if people are really going to be distracted by the tips of your hair being dyed then maybe your school should work on teaching their students how to pay attention instead of working on your hair.
I know that other schools (including mine) would be proud to have somebody like you as a student. So I don't know what the problem is at your school. Like a person below me said, you should write to your newspaper about this.

The cant do that. It's your right to express your self it's there fault if they can't handle it. And your hair isn't apart of the dress code. It's your hair... not theirs. Anyway love you for what you did. Your awesome.
