The scariest part is that you don't
know. You don't know if the person you just passed
on the street is more than ready to burst into tears. You
don't know if the girl you sit next to in math cries
herself to sleep every night. You don't know if that
annoying guy in your science class is terrified of going
home. You don't know if that girl who wears all the
bracelets wears them because she likes to or because she has
something to hide. You don't know who is on the verge of
suicide. You don't know who has no home to go when they
leave school. You don't know who has to fight for their
next meal. You don't know if you can trust anyone because
everyone has something to hide and it makes everything just
feel so fake. Every smile. Every laugh. Ever joke. Because
you don't know whether everyone smiles because they mean
it or because they have to.
