The Letter. THE CHANGE.
The Lie.
Chapter 79:
July 17
*Katia's POV*
A buzz from my phone brought me out of my trip down memory
lane.
I'll pick you up in a
10~Louis<3
Okay, see you
then!~Katia
I checked to make sure I still
looked okay in the mirror of the bathroom. I was wearing an
outfit Louis had picked out during his clingy phase. At first I
was okay with it because it kept him busy, but now I wore
in hopes that it would ease the awkward tension between us. Just
thinking about our messed up situation made my heart ache and I
turned from the mirror.
When my phone buzzed again I
didn't even have to check it to know it was Louis telling me
he was there. The thought of how two weeks ago he would of came
up to the door and knocked to let me know he was here instead of
just sending me a text ran through my head. I told myself I
couldn't think of things like that and had to try to stay
positive as I opened the door and walked out to his car.
We made small talk on the way to
the concert, but not the way a couple should. Our conversation
was stiff and formal; I don't know if we had ever talked like
that before, not even on the first day we met. We both knew that
too.
"Thank you for the tickets,
Katia," Louis said with real emotion for the first time that
night. That was the first sentence you could tell that we
actually knew and cared about each other.
"Your welcome," I said
with a genuine smile. My voice was soft and gentle, not the fake
happy it had been for the past week. Maybe tonight was actually
going to go well, and we would go back to our old selves.
*After the
concert*
"I'm going to go use the
restroom and then we'll leave," I told Lou before
walking off to the nearest restroom.
The concert was amazing, and we
both had an amazing time. We were back to our old selves, at
least for a little bit. Before and during the concert we were,
but as soon as it was over he couldn't stay off his phone. He
kept compulsively checking it and despite my attempts I
couldn't see who it was he was talking too.
There was a small line at the
bathroom, must of hit it just at the right time, so it wasn't
long after I left that I was washing my hands and walking back.
As I entered the area I left Louis my eyes started scanning the
spot I left him, but I couldn't see him. I slowly placed one
foot in front of the other as I made my way to where we were
standing minutes before and my eyes scanned the room looking for
him.
I pulled my phone out to try to
call him when I saw him, or at least the side of his face. He was
talking to a girl, probably just a fan, with his back turned to
me. I started to shove my phone back into it's pocket as I
walked over to him. He shifted his stance, moving slightly to the
right, letting me see the girl he was talking to.
I couldn't see her clearly,
maybe because I really didn't want to, but she looked
familiar. I was rummaging through my memory to try to figure out
who it would be when someone cut in front of me, throwing me
slightly off balance.
"Sorry!" they called back
as I steadied myself. After sending her a slight glare I looked
back at Lou and the girl he was talking to and saw the
unthinkable.
Her arms were wrapped around his
neck, pulling him closer to her and his hands rested on her hips.
My mind struggled to process what I was seeing, it couldn't
wrap around what was happening let alone form a sentence of what
it was. They pulled apart and a grin was plastered across the
girl's face, and then I finally understood and it hit me like
a crashing wave at high tide.
Louis was kissing Ashlyn.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I feel like this was
obviously going to happen and very poorly executed, sorry. /: What
do you think is going to happen? Do you think it's really
Ashlyn? If not, who else could it be? Why would Ashlyn be in the
UK? Any ideas of what is going to happen? How are you guys liking
the story
Oh my goodness, I loved the feedback I got from you guys! Obviously
I'm going to finish the story, and some good news is I'm
out of school! So I'll be able to write more!
Also, before I end this book of an authors note, I want to give you
a hint: the secret is bigger than what it appears. Don't let
little things that happen confuse you. Thank you so much for
reading! Love you all!
