Hey guys, So I need some advice. In November my best friend started dating my best guy friend. I was so happy for them and they make like the perfect couple. My best friend asked me if it was okay before she said yes or if it would be really weird for me. I said yes ofcourse because they make the perfect match and make eachother so happy. Jokingly I said "just don't forget about your sister!" And she said "of course I won't! Sisters before misters, i'll always be here for you!" When they first started dating my best friend was really happy and talked about him a lot. I figured she was just excited because he's her first boyfriend and once they were dating for a bit she would stop talking about him 24/7. But it's gotten worse. Now we never hang out just the two of us anymore, he ALWAYS comes. Which I don't mind sometimes because he's one of my best friends and like a big brother to me and everything but sometimes I want to just hang out with her or just hang out with him. When I do hang out with just him (which usually if I ask him to hang oit he doesn't even ask her unless I say to) he talks about her a little but not a lot, a normal amount. But whenever I ask her to hang out she ALWAYS invites him. We've hung out once in the past 3 months with just us two. We had a sleepover, and all she talked about was him. I miss when we hung out before. Tomorrow we were supposed to hang out just us two and I was really excited. I have a lot to tell her because the majority of her time she spends with him and I haven't seen her outside of school in about a month. She just texted me though and said "hey! I hope you don't mind I invited (her boyfriend) to come tomorrow! I know we don't hang out much anymore I just felt bad because none of his friends are around tomorrow and I don't want him to have to sit at home alone." I said it's fine but I miss my old best friend. I don't wamt her to get mad if I say something but ALL she talks about is him and it gets a little annoying. Any ideas on what to do? I probably sound like a selfish jerk right now but I really am happy for them I just really miss my best friend. Thank you soo much in advance if you have any advice.

I understand ya girl! If i were you, I would make sure you tell her your happy for them and stuff, but tell her the truth. How you really feel. Do it in person though, texting could make it sound the wrong way! I agree with below, tell her you two need a "girls day" and are not to mention any boys ;) lol good luck!

No, no, you are not selfish! I was in a similar situation about a year ago. When you see her at school, ask if you can talk to her- alone. Tell her clearly how you feel. Make sure to point out that you are very happy for them. However, ask if you and her can talk about other things. What is her hobby? Ask her questions about that instead. Maybe schedule a 'girls day' with her. Go to them mall, a sports event, or just laze around at home. Keep her occupied, and she'll probably forget to talk about him.
Make sure to tell her how you feel. In the end, you'll feel like closer friends.

you're not a selfish jerk. I'm the same way when my best guy friend has a girlfriend. but maybe just talk to them separately about how you feel about all this and just say that your not telling them that you think they should break up but you just miss your best friend and you want some more one on one time with them. say that to both of them. it worked for me so i hope it works for you. lettme know what you end up doing and how it goes (:
