Do people actually say pop instead of soda?

In Canada we call it pop lol

Lol. I live in Minnesota. Everyone calls it pop besides a select few... and people look at them crazy when they say "Soda"
In school, someone called pop soda.. my teacher looked at them "Baking Soda?" Lolol but yeah!

That's so weird, I live in Massachusetts and if someone said pop they would get the weirdest looks.
