MY HEART IS A GARDEN I was born with seeds in my heart. It's

MY HEART IS A GARDEN

I was born with seeds in my heart.
It's a rare phenomenon, I guess.
The doctor didn't know what to do.
He didn't want to make a mess.

Luckily, for most of my life
The seeds remained unaltered.
I was able to run and jump.
My heart never faltered.

But the moment that I met you,
Was the moment that everything changed.
Those seeds started to take root.
My whole life would be rearranged.

I remember the first time you kissed me.
It felt like my heart was exploding.
You rushed me to the hospital,
Ignoring the sense of foreboding.

The doctor did some tests,
And what he found made him gasp.
"There's a garden in your heart!"
Words that you could not grasp.

Whenever we were together,
Flowers bloomed inside my chest.
But you gradually pulled away.
It was all so hard to digest.

When you finally left for good,
My flowers started to wilt.
You flipped my world upside-down.
You knocked it on a tilt.

Now my garden is gone.
All that's left are weeds.
I wait for someone to pick them,
So they can plant new seeds.
