The girl with the glasses chapter two “Glasses?!”

The girl with the glasses
chapter two

Glasses?!” She asked her mother, almost screaming. Her mother gave her a dirty look but nodded.

“You need them.” Her mother told her, and that was all her mother would say. She kept asking why she needed glasses, that she loved this blur she lived in. But her mother just kept on driving, driving to the eye doctor.

The eye doctor's office was full of furniture, and pairs of glasses that said “Try me!” on the front. Contacts were available in the room next door, but she was told they ruined your eyes. You lose the contacts a lot, too.

“I have the best ones for you,” the eye doctor told her. He picked up a nice small black pair, and put them in her hands.

“No, I refuse.” She said firmly, holding the pair of glasses out to the eye doctor. She didn't want these, she wanted to live safely in her blur. Her blur was where she was safe.

“Put them on.” Ordered her mother. Her mother took the glasses in her hand and attempted to get them on her child.

“No, I don't want them!” She said, batting the glasses away. Nobody could keep her from her blur, that was where she belonged. Without it. . . she could see the faces of people. She could see the disapointment, discust, etc. When they saw her. Then, the eye doctor took the glasses from her mother, and kneeled beside the girl.

You don't have to keep them, just try them on.” He said softly. She frowned, but took the glasses anyway. A bit of curiosity stung her, something small inside of her wanted to know what it was like to see things clearly. And right now, she was listening to it. Slowly, but surely, she put the glasses on.

Everything was clearer. When she looked out the window, she could see the outline of every leaf on a tree. She could see the little dents in the chair next to her, and she didn't know her mother looked like that. It was truley amazing.

But, she didn't know what she herself looked like. She probably looked like a nerd, somebody who would be made fun of at every turn.

“Is there a mirror somewhere?” She asked the eye doctor. He smiled, and pointed in the general direction where a mirror was placed. She walked over to it, and gasped at what she saw.

In the mirror, she saw a girl. No, not a girl, she saw herself. She had pale skin, and cinnamon brown hair that swept to her shoulders. She was wearing a black sweater that clung tight to her skin. And, on her face, was a small eccsesory of black glasses. The black glasses didn't make her look like a nerd, instead they brought out her eyes. She had pretty eyes, her eyes were hazel. The colour that was her name.

Do you like them?” Her mother asked. Hazel smiled.

Yes.” She replied, and removed two strands of hair clinging to her face.

I really like the way this story's going :) i mean, i can be nit-picky if you want, but all in all i really like this chapter.
so gonna follow you now!
what I would suggest is centering all the text, because it makes the paragraphs stand out, and make sure you spell check before you submit because sometimes it's difficult to fathom what you mean to say. just copy and paste the whole text into a work doc and hit spell check.
if you want to make the title stand out, put it in a different font and use a text colour fader to make it look more colourful. here's a good link:

can't wait for the next instalment :)
take care! x
