In America, you get more dirty looks for wearing a hijab than wearing a "Cool story, babe. Now go make me a sandwhich." shirt. Let that sink in a little bit.

Depends on where you are. In cities not so much, but in more rural areas definitely.

Fortunately there are some cities in the US that are more tolerant. They are just really expensive to live in.

I love this quote so much it really stresses out the real views of the public and shows they are nothing but Hippocrates, They claim that they believe in freedom yet criticize other girls for choosing what they want to do.

Ok first off let me just say i absolutely love you right now more than ever! I am a muslimah (girl muslim) and i get dirty looks all the time in public just for wearing my modesty (hijab) and what most people dont undersatn no matter how many times i explain is that i wear my hijab because I WANT TO! No because of my brother or father or anyone... its because i believe in being modest and the fact that you made this quote is really mind blowing to me so thank you from the bottom of my heart honestly! I can not express my thanks enough!

I'm a Christian girl and I'm not allowed to wear pants. Only skirts. My religion which is Apostolic teaches that its immodest for women to wear pants. It's really unfair that ppl look at you weird because of what you wear, but i know that ppl can be really ignorant when it comes to things they dont understand. I have had some hard times wearing my skirts, with people making jokes. Even though we don't share religions it's good to feel that someone at least gets what I'm too going through :)

I completely respect you for your beliefs. I think everyone should be equal no matter what and you're allowed to wear whatever makes you comfortable. I do want to ask you though, please don't take offense I just like learning about other people, do you only wear it around other people or do you wear it all the time (like in your house and stuff)?
