Henry: There's a hole in my bucket.
Liza: Then mend it.
Henry: With what shall I mend it?
Liza: With a straw.
Henry: The straw is too long.
Liza: Then cut it.
Henry: With what shall I cut it?
Liza: With a knife.
Henry: The knife is too dull.
Liza: Then sharpen it.
Henry: On what shall I sharpen it?
Liza: A stone.
Henry: The stone is too dry.
Liza: Well wet it.
Henry: With what shall I wet it?
Liza: Try water.
Henry: In what shall I fetch it?
Liza: In a bucket.
Henry: There's a hole in my bucket.
Haha :D
I only heard it this year at 18 years old. Haha.
My friend was quoting it and I was like "Uhh what?". But I guess it's because I live in Australia and my family's asian. But afterwards, I realised that it was referenced in Carly Rae Jepson's Bucket and I think it's also in Bastille's Flaws. It's awesome ^-^
It is actually an old folk song with a story behind it;
The story is that if we have a small problem i.e a broken bucket- there is lots of ways to fix it, don't just give up ;)
So, because my name is Eliza my parents changed the name and always told me the meaning for ages since I was young because they thought the message as important ;)xx
