Drugs are illegal now and look how easy they are too get? I don't think banning guns will do much for us if someone really wants too kill they'll find other ways or get guns illegally.

Also I'd like to point out if guns were banned there would still probably a lot of bad people who would own them illegally but others wouldn't have anything to defend themselves with. (also these aren't directed towards the maker of this quote they're more for the general public.)

People should go check out the amount of deaths with guns in countries where theyre legal vs the amount of deaths with guns in countries where they're banned. There is actually a BIG difference

No offense, but that doesn't really determine anything. There's so many factors. One country could have a much smaller population, which would result in less gun deaths.

You're right. But in general, with a big or small population, it's a lot harder to get a gun unless you're super determined to kill someone. Some people buy a gun just in case they need it and then, they end up using them impulsively

Exaaaactly. If guns werent the easiest /most convenient way to kill a specific lot of people quickly, then theyd hardly be an army's weapon of choice .

Oh that's strange. I've never seen a picture of a soldier holding a bomb. Bombs kill everyone within a certain radius. They're for mass destruction. Soldiers would be blowing up their own people left right and center if that was true.Guns are more accurate at killing specific people within a group.

While guns do make it easier to kill people, banning them or making the laws stricter would not help. If people want to kill, they will find a way to kill. They may purchase a gun illegally (something that was most likely the case in two nearby towns judging by the crimes) or find other means to kill. Timothy McVeigh didn't use a gun and he managed to kill 168 & injure 680. You can still buy box trucks, fertilizer, & racing fuel. If the want to kill is there, people will find a way whether it's with a gun or not.

there aren't many weapons that can kill from a distance, require a very small amount of actual knowledge to operate and are both not incredibly expensive and easily commercially available. people would absolutely replace guns with something else but there is something about guns that removes the person from the personal impact of murder (pulling a trigger as opposed to actively stabbing a knife through someone's stomach)

Yeah, normal people don't get a gun to shoot people, that's what criminals do. Who do you think is going to be getting the guns when they're banned? The criminals from the Black Market, so now the bad guys have got the guns and we're defensless as we are at gun point.

As many arguments as I've had with people about this, yours is the most convincing and strongest one. I respect that lol, I like debating stuff like this cause I'm in college now and studying law. Yeah I agree with it being an enabler. But I feel as if the government does take away all power from we the people, it will leave us vulnerable if comes a situation(which I think there will) where civilians revolt, especially when Obama okays the Syria attack.
