When I was a kid, in the evening, my parents would always pause

 

         When I was a kid, in the evening, my parents would always
          pause at the door on their way down the hall to wish me a
          good night. It was always after they'd turned off the lights,
          so I could only see their dark outlines. It was a comforting
          sight as I fell asleep.

          It is less so now, considering they've been dead for fifteen
          years and I've moved three times.
