I hate when I
see people saying that we should go back to the time when curvier
was considered to be more beautiful than being thin.
Not because I don't think that curvier, heavier women
aren't beautiful. It's because people assume that there
wasn't as much body shaming then. Society was the exact same
way it is now, just in reverse. Do you know what they did to
women who were thin back then? They'd shame them. There were
ads saying that no man wanted a thin women and ads that said that
advertised methods that would help a woman gain weight. Women who
were thin were taught to be ashamed of their bodies.
Instead of going back to a time where curvier was more
beautiful, why not become a time where every body is
beautiful?
I wasn't insulted by him. This quote just reminded me of that.
